Is anyone in the group knowledgeable about current events, particularly near Overbrook Road?  What type of unitization is in process for what well?

Cat. What is going on? You can Private message me
I started this blog over a year ago so it is not me!

People that are not members can read this thread or they can join and not comment.

The tactics some of these antis are starting to use are pretty low.

This whole matter can be debated in a civilized manner. Apparently there are at least a few that don't see it that way.  Sad, very sad.

Cat, feel free to PM me also if you want.

Thank you RB for starting this blog. Hopefully, it can continue to remain a source for updates like the ones you have posted in the past as well as others have posted too. Let that be the focus of the blog. It definitely is a touchy subject.
Thanks FMV.
And I would like to remind everyone that this site is GO MARCELLUS. If you do not support MARCELLUS then best to stay away. If you are harassing anyone you are showing your true childish colors and it sure doesn't support your cause and could hurt them!

Sorry RB, I disagree.

This site is for anyone that is interested in this new and exciting drilling technology. And, all the associated issues that come with it.

Pro or con, I welcome the discussion as long as it is conducted in a civilized manner. Name calling, harassment and such are not necessary.

There certainly are some legitimate concerns on both side of the issue. Lets talk about them and attempt to find some common ground.

Cat,

Please don't let them bully you. (easy for me to say) but ...

re: my above post...lets talk.

This site is a much better place than closed to people that do not agree FB pages to have a real discussion.

Not to be a shill for this site...but in my experience it is very well managed, does not tolerate foul language, trolling, and personal attacks.

Lot of information here. Sift through it and make your own conclusions. Disagree with something, talk about it. Perhaps agree to disagree.

Invitation to talk is open....

Just make another account with a different name and don't talk about it.

This has been a friendly group and I feel certain it will remain that way.   We have had a few little disagreements, agree to disagree sometimes, and for the most part, it has been about information sharing locally in Middlesex, the industry, as has the Go Marcellus site as a whole.  I have been pleased to see it has grown of late, including Middlesex and non-Middlesex participants.  The industry is complex and there are quite a few people here that are becoming experts with lots of valuable information to share both industry expertise, as well as local happenings.

I presume most of us moved away from crowded suburbia to have some space in the form of acreage.  Some have more, some have less, but we all have more as a whole, as I did that analysis a long time ago.  I know me and my counterpart at the time were willing to drive a little bit further to have our little piece of the country life. My counterpart landowner is the number one pro nature person that you will ever meet. He protected it all; trees, critters, even snakes!   Yet he sees no harm in participating in this opportunity.  And I can tell you that that came as a surprise to me.

The industry has brought about an opportunity as a result of that move to the country.  Some may choose to take advantage and some may not.  Some hope for the opportunity to happen for them.  I believe, as FMV has shared, that that opportunity is coming.  These very, very few individuals that represent less than a half percent of the population should realize that it is wrong to stand in the way of the individuals that chose to move away from the very type of restrictions they are trying to impose on us, and, hopefully our township administrators will protect that right.  After all, this very type of control tactics is the reason we moved in the first place.  And we were here first.  Most importantly, the very behaviors that they are displaying to you (Cat) are indicative of their real intentions, and I seriously doubt it is really about fracking.  Most importantly, we need to stop them because, just as they are bullying Cat, they are bullying us too, just indirectly.

Very well said RB..

Comments obviously open for anyone...

The funny thing about it is, I bed if those people had land they would quickly change perspectives. haters. lol.

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has sent a notice of violation to Rex Energy for a spill at a wellpad on Route 228 in Middlesex, Butler County.

On Dec. 11, a driver at the Feree site spilled as many as 20 gallons of flowback/rainwater mixture, according to the notice, which said the site was cleaned by vacuuming, use of absorbent pads and excavation of soil contaminated by the spill.

The DEP said Rex promptly reported the spill.

Residual waste is a violation of the state's Solid Waste Management Act.
