I travel back to Eastern Ohio from Columbus and back to Columbus.

on Wednesday as a volunteer ARC  driver delivering blood.

I have been noticing  along I70 there are couple helicopters some Wednesday and  4 wheelers and side by sides there.I was just wondering is this  those seismic copters people are talking about. Just wondering, seem like a lot of activity around there.

Yes it's a seismic companies headquarters I guess

Could you please tell me the location, in Guernsey County? My interests are located in Londonderry Twp., in the N.E. part, near the Harrison Co. line. Anywhere near there?

Thanks!

NC,

My dad talked a week or so ago to the seismic company (Skullfork Rd area in Londonderry) and they said they'd be dropping the lines/cables in 2-3 weeks and then setting off the charges, but nothing yet this week; maybe next week.

Great hearing about the location! Keep me posted if you would, please. I live out of the state and have no way of knowing what is happening up there. I really appreciate y'all keeping me informed with this kind of info!

Leased with Shell in 2011, then AEU, and nothing has happened since. It is going on 4 years now. Sure hope I will be included with any new drilling in the future!

Thanks, again.

Anyone know what the helicopters are doing?  They fly back and forth towing some kind of harness below them.  Sometimes it is empty and sometimes it looks like there are "bags" hanging from it.  They seem to randomly pause and lower it down toward the ground, then take off again.  They are very busy flying back and forth to and from the fair grounds.  What exactly are they doing?  Thanks.

They are lowering sensors to put on top of the ground that read seismic activity after charges are shot off. There a little smaller than a coffee can and when you run over them with a lawn mower they tend to break

Do the boxes damage your mower blades? lol

There are 2 thumper trucks sitting on the AEPU Shipman pad by Old Washington. You reckon this means that AEPU is behind the seismic testing going on around the area?

When I called them last week about it being close to our dog pen, the man I talked to told me the white ones are just sensors not where they set off charges. He also said if they do set off charges it's at least 300 ft or more from structures.

If I may ask, Sherry, where are you located? My mineral right interests are near Skull Fork Rd. , in the K&R Conservation acreage. Londonderry Twp., North of Rt. 22. Are you anywhere near that area? I live out of state and have no why of knowing what is happening, especially with AEU, who I am leased with. There has been no activity, drilling wise or contact from AEU since they bought the lease from Shell. Just curious if anything will be drilled on the property. I only own the mineral rights not the land. Next Oct. will be 5 years and my lease will expire. Lease is 20%--$5,000 an acre. Suppose to be in a good location or so I was told. Maybe AEU is saving the best for last.lol!

Just curious.

Thanks!

We are in Millwood township, out in salesville. They have stopped alot of the drilling around us till the price goes back up. I bet it's the same in your area.

Hey NC,

Rumor 'round here (my parents are off Skullfork five miles south of your place) was that a pad was put on that property; they upgraded the road from SR 22 -- and they stripped the surface of all (?) the trees -- and THEN the landowner(s) found out they did not have the mineral rights. Shell had dropped the ball on ownership verification. Not sure this is true, but that's what some landman told my dad.

The only activity I have seen out that way is further out Skullfork, actually just inside Harrison Cty. Just before Alexander Ridge Rd they have put in some stuff at that pond (that sits a ways back, just at the tree line). Looked to be for the water source; I just hadn't seen any pumps the last time I was out that way. Not much, I know; but that's all I've seen / heard.
