Just curious...

I am in Liberty township and a few months ago got an offer to buy my royalties for 1500 to 1800 per acre, but they would do a more in-depth look if I was serious which "mite change the numbers" slightly....even tho I am not drilled or receiving any royalties ..talked to a landsman rite b4 I contacted them and he advised caution as there will be "significant" activity in my area in the "near future"....how about it, anybody else get an offer or hear anything or see any activity here in Tioga Co. ?

Several years ago, during the conversion of the last section of 15 to an interstate, PennDOT uncovered some remains.  Which, they first tried to pass off as "cow bones".  Iirc they were identified as probable Native American remains.  And there is a legislatively established procedure for reburial at approved sites.

So, SWEPI is at least thinking about drilling a few more wells. But to put these four applications in perspective, Ohio had 969 *producing* Utica wells as of a couple weeks ago.

Ohio has a few years head start of drilling Utica wells some are oil wells.

Considering that there have been zero Utica wells spud in TC so far this year, there is a lot of catching up to do.

Ann how many countys are they drilling in Ohio.Shell is drilling just a few townships in the northern part of Tioga county.

This map shows the distribution of Ohio wells:

It looks like a dozen or so county's of producing wells in Ohio.So far Tioga has about four townships in one county. The Utica window is no where near that size hear.

That's the question.  In TC, is there enough recoverable gas at the Utica depth to make development worthwhile?  If it is, is that only because Marcellus (and earlier) pipelines, storage, etc. were already here?

Comparing by county area, Carroll Cty OH -  ~100 producing wells - is 35% of the area of Tioga Cty PA.

Ann so far all the Utica wells drilled in Tioga Co.have produced good numbers. The price and demand for gas is holding all the company's back. Shell is testing the perimeters of the Utica in our area, that's great they have the cash to do that now.

I don't know, Josie.  Maybe someone who lives near there can answer your question?   For sure nothing much is going on in NE TC.
