Hey there Old Timer, Was just thinking, If what you suggest about Christmas royalty is true, then some one's nose is gonna be terribily out of joint!  So sad, Too bad!

I'm already accused of blowing gaskets. LOL! Tried to blame it on Jake brakes over on the road.

Knox road is about as bad shape as your A-pad incline and Sperry/young is or was!

Well Jack, we can always hope that P#2 will do as good as the first one did. I spent many hours in that particular area hiking, cutting wood, plowing for George Painter and combining grain during my younger days. Today the entire area has been ripped apart from my memory of what it used to be. It would be a shame to not be as productive as we all hope it to be...… tore up as it is now!

All well and good old timer about the impoundments.

However you know I have been trying to encourage the folks that read this thread to have a bit of input. I am sure there are questions that need asking and answers to be forth coming!  Well maybe someone will be interested enough to sit down and put forth their thoughts about a very important  subject concerning the land owners, Namely the gas and oil exploration in Westfield Township!

Come on readers, Lets get with it!

You need to quit tapping away at your video games and internet friends! Use your skills to learn important information. What good is it to read about the latest fancy receipe  or look at the newest car on the market at other sites, if your income from gas royalty all of a sudden disappears. And you have borrowed money against the prospect of paying it back from expected royalty?

HUH?  WELL? You could easily lose every thing you have just by sitting around. Except of course of how to make a cheeseburger in a different way. Or just how fast the latest vehicle can pick up speed?

Two or three members cannot answer or even ask about something they do not understand completely.

Yes, Just saying HELLO. or" I had a great garden this year!" is a good start!  A car wont take you for groceries until YOU START THE ENGINE!  Tell me a funny story. Tell me about your grandmother's attempt about learning to drive a car.  We can go from there!

Several folks have phoned us in the last day or so to inquire about royalty checks.

Lu and I am waiting for our royalty checks too.  We are just as confused as to why we have not received as are these callers. No one that we have personally talked with can give us a definite date of when these checks will be issued.

We were under the impression that checks would resume in September or October.  As we understand today, both Painter #1 and Painter #2 gas wells are now on line.

All I can surmise is perhaps the constant heavy rains may have delayed the these gas wells from being put on line. I really do not know. One landowner I talked with suggested that there still might be a check coming in October.   But definitely  in November.

Broughton Hollow road has been resurfaced all the way from route 49 to the Painter gas well right of way entrance.  Heavy gas company truck drivers have been observing speed limits and very courteous There still seems to be a few tanker trucks entering and exiting the well site.

Other township roads where gas well and associated, (Water impoundments Ect.), sections are located have been washed very severely.  Some were almost impassable. (Deep ruts cut across  the roadway. Very deep ditches and in places deposits of gravel with large rocks in the roadway.)

Possibly Eclipse has its plate piled very high right now  by unforeseen situations,  Like we all do at times!

We attended the Shell Appalachia Open House at Penn College outside Wellsboro last Thursday. I referred to it once as SWEPI and was quietly corrected to Shell Appalachia......?? Anyway, sorry guys, I found out little other than that they are STAYING PUT, and the plans for the next 2 fiscal years (which correspond to calendar years) are for "low activity" unless there's a major upswing, of course, in profitability (gas prices.)

Met the new GM, a nice lady from Florida who's been in the industry all over the world for nearly 30 years (and doesn't look it.) She had not been where there is snow before, though ;) She will be in the area usually the beginning of every week.

Two of our local "gas millionaire" families were present. I have no idea what they've made, not my business really and everyone is fairly close-mouthed. They were upset because for one family at least, their 3rd well (same pad) was stopped because of an injunction filed by a neighbor. No details. (Shell App isn't allowed to share them, and the owners didn't)

Shell App. is looking long-term, hanging onto what they can. When asked why some leases were dropped, they said (haven't checked ours) that there's language in some leases about, if no royalties are paid by a certain amount of years, they have to surrender the leases. They're hoping to re-lease some of those later on.

Also, I'll put up another post, but if anyone knows of local non-profits or schools or organizations (or individuals, I guess) that need grant money, SA still has funds for this year, the plans are to pay out over $350,000 this year to needy groups. Also, they're looking for hands-on opportunities, to volunteer. Recently started a plan with Wellsboro Food Pantry to have some of their drivers deliver stuff. Check their website.

That's all I learned. Besides a partial answer to my mother-in-law's problem, which is  probably....your relatives screwed you.

Oh, and apparently they hold these Open Houses every year--worth going just for the food, trays of sandwiches, vegetables, fruit and desserts (and water). We expected donuts and coffee.

Thank you Deb!  Your postings are exactly what is needed for us all.

The "Open house" is a great idea too. But for me and Lu Ann it is very hard to do. I am 84 years old and cannot see to drive at night. Lu Ann does not drive at all.

Whatever information you can share with all of us it is truly appreciated by all of us who read this thread.

Thanks, Granddad and Ruby. It sounds like the "local team" (Shell App) are really hoping something breaks loose for them soon, like more pipeline approval, better gas prices, etc. They talked "around" the idea of the huge gas pool under us, and getting it out, the country burning more, clean NG, etc. They have a lot of hope, and I think a lot of long term plans. Which is hard for some of us. Granddad, my father is your age, and my mother-in-law is 88. (Mom is much younger ;) ) They hope to see "something" in their lifetimes......MIL lives in Charleston Twp, and there's little around us (except south around Antrim, and that's not Shell. My own parents are in Delmar, and there's a BIG well only a mile from "theirs", a planned pipeline that was just tabled several years ago....they're beginning to think they'll see nothing. As for my husband and I (Charleston), we're a little too close to Wellsboro and the reservoirs for comfort. We may have problems there.
