Starting this thread to post info related to Magnum Hunter and its various business components.  First post is Triad Hunter opening office in Marietta, Ohio.  Definately Magnum Hunter is spending in Monroe, Noble and Washington counties in Ohio as well as Tyler and other WV counties.

This article appeared about three weeks ago.  It concerns hauling brine water by barge instead of truck by Green Hunter, a business component of Magnum Hunter.

This is the current status of transporting frack water by barge. Looks like a protest was to happen 4/20 in Wheeling against it.

Check this minute by minute update on an antifracting protest at Green Hunter today in New Matamoras, Washington Co, Ohio. Plenty of pics.

This is a follow up article published in the Marietta Times today reporting on the protest at Green Hunter yesterday.

Listen to the presentation given yesterday, Feb 19th, at an investor's conference in San Franciso by company president.  Only good things are said about the marcellus and utica;  Monroe, Washington, and Noble counties are their focus.  No video or slides are posted.  Company seems to be holding back on showing the presentation or maybe I just haven't found it yet.

article describing the new drilling rig purchased by Alpha Hunter  headed for Ohio.   Very interesting!    Cost over 7 million!

As reported in Pipeline

"Two workers injured in an explosion at a Magnum Hunter-owned compression station in West Virginia have died, according to reports."

Perhaps this might partially explain the downward pressure on Magnum Hunter's stock price.

Seeker

The obit of first man who died says he worked for UTI of Groveport, Ohio.

searcher.  nice rig. 15,000' total well bore length means they can drill down 8,000' and do a 7000' lateral.  Maybe less considering the torque of the turn.  Nice to see a new company with a new design increasing competition.

Jim,

According to depth maps I have looked at the Utica below Green twp. Monroe County is about 13,000 feet.  So who has the rigs to reach it with ability to do long laterals?

Maybe I read the map wrong?
