Who Ended up With Sound Energys Deep Oil And Gas

 Can anyone tell me if Sound Energy sold there deep oil and gas. I have heard all kinds of rumors. I heard at one time Serra Buckeye has them ,.And now I heard AEP Energy has them. These are some very old leases and I think we need to get some bonus money also.  I think its time to challenge these small oil Co. for a bigger piece of the pie if they don't pay up.

Jim,  Good luck trying to get any extra bonus money...let me know if you do as Sound Energy has been very uncooperative in that respect for me (even for ground they hadn't drilled on but hbp).  They told me the same thing...sold all my deep rights to Sierra Buckeye..ha.  The court house records indicated at that time that Range assigned them to Enervest!   (That was about two years ago, and no mention of Sierra Buckeye having them.  I had placed a call to Sierra Buckeye at the time and the receptionist said "oh yes, we just bought those deep rights".)

  Just last week I reviewed my deed entries and saw a recent assignment from Sierra Buckeye to AEP.   I ALSO saw that same acreage assigned from Enervest to AEP.   Either way it looks like AEP has the deep rights.  I have my opinions about Sound Energy, but long story short...don't think Sound Energy has had them, at least for awhile.

Sound Energy and Sierra were making a deal a a year or so  ago...

In any case......if there was a reassignment to AEP, Enervest, it doesn't matter....they will have to abide by the old lease terms......and unless they need amendments ( pooling...etc), they will not need anything further from you.  If they need amendments.....then you can make a deal for better terms (bonus/royalty/restrictions....etc).

In some cases, Sound Energy may not have held the deep rights, they may have been reserved by another company (perhaps Enervest/Range Resources)
