Reasons why the U.S. dollar may lose its "Reserve Currency Status!!! Sooner rather than later....

The attached link may be one of the most interesting outline of why the U.S. Dollar is about to lose

its reserve currency status.  My question is what effect will this have on the importance of natural gas and natural gas prices. The video show in this link detailed what I already knew was happening when Russia and China have already gotten together with other countries to replace the dollar as the worlds reserve currency but also revealed other aspects of how the countries of the world are reacting to this information.

My question is how can the boobs (whom evidentally we've empowered) and who are calling all of the shots (financial and political) allow us as a nation to sink into such an envisioned pit ?

Another question is why we continue to empower such a collection  of boobs ?

The USA is today a debtor nation.  There is no political will whatsoever, not in either political party, to put this right. Obama has proven the wisdom, in terms of vote-gathering, of a Santa Claus Presidency.  The Republicans (most of them) have learned from Obama and are striving to "out Santa Claus" him and his Democrats.

There is no such thing as a free lunch.  We are currently almost US$18T in debt, and we have unfunded liabilities in the "out years" of nearly US$100T.  Hence:

Why on earth would anyone want our shrinking currency!

Finally, I'm betting every reader of this post receiving royalties is being paid in US$.  Good luck with that!!!!

It seems to be Frank that you figured it out, the next reply told me not to worry the economy is good, don't worry......Mary Antonette just lay your head on this block and everything will be fine?

I am not an alarmist but my accounting background taught me to be a realist.  This country is broke and most people do not realize how broke we really are.  I own land with the mineral rights but I am years from receiving royalties my question is do I wait for an unknown or do I sell the land and mineral rights and purchase "silver" which is below $20 an ounce and in the short term I believe going even lower but in the long term might be a better play than waiting for an unknown.  Everyone has to make their own decision and looks at life through their own lense, I just thought I would pass the information on to those who are interested.  I am sorry for wasting anyone's time but when I sold my real estate in California in 2007 just ahead of the "crash" most people did not see that crash coming.  This crash will make that crash seem like a "bump" but hopefully I am wrong and everything will be "great" we can print whatever money we need when we need it.  Great plan, altough it has never worked in the past, this time will be different.

George

I don't have the answer to your dilemma.  I wish I did.  It's something being faced today by many of us.  But specific to your situation as you explained it:

We all are seeking to identify hard assets which will hold their value when and if the US dollar starts to reflect its true worth.  You mentioned two things I would consider "hard assets":

1.  silver

2.  your mineral rights, and possibly even your land (less certain)

I cannot tell you which way to go, or what way to go.  Do not ignore the possibility of selling your surface rights and retaining your mineral rights.  That's just another option.  I've never liked silver because you need so darn much of it before you have real money.  The stuff is very heavy and is subject to theft.  Both your land and your minerals are unlikely to be stolen.

While today silver is more easily monetized than land and/or minerals, that might change in the future.  Such things are difficult to forecast.  When the black swan swoops in, stuff changes.

Just a couple of thoughts to chew on.  Good luck.

Come on George your wasting my time...

The US economy is as strong as its been in 7 years.

Live your lives by working not worrying.

CRUDE OUT

'as strong as its been in 7 years.'

How strong (or how weak) is that ?

I'll say it's not strong enough / at all by my standards.

I'll call it weak and too weak at that.

We need another Ronald Reagan. God Bless him.

We sure do! But is there anyone like him?

It looks to me gentlemen that Ronald Reagan who was a great man is now a mirage, there are no more men around that want to enter that garbage pit of corrupt politics except more corrupt politicians that want their own piece of that large pie.

If you have not figured that out and that you had better protect your own interests thats your fault.  Waiting for the white knight on a white horse to come dancing down the hill and save the day is only in the movies.  I was born at night......but not last night!!!!

This country cannot pay the INTEREST on the debt let alone the debt....That is why they reduced the interest rates to almost zero because when interest rates finally rise...and they will rise......financially all hell with break loose.   What happened to all those bad loans the bank had on their books that the government was going to take over...instead of taking them over the federal reserve litterally gave money to all the banks that wanted money so close to ZERO interest that the money was almost free and those banks now could invest those funds in short term notes for 3%-5% interest

and the banks could avoid the risk of loaning money and just keep the spread from almost ZERO to 5% and not have to book the losses on that failed real estate and could offset the eventual loss against the profits from the free money we gave the banks and the people who saved their money and was not involved in the real estate bust ended up paying the freight for the real estate bubble.

Ronald Reagan was not the only actor who became President...our current President

makes Ronald Reagan look like a beginning student of acting, he is a real professional actor who flies around in his private jet, lives in the big white house, makes millions of dollars writing books and shoots pool and play basketball like a real pro and I thought Ronald Reagan could make convincing speeches, this President ranks up there with the best EVER......he is taking care of his family and hisself and you had better take care of your family and yourself.......I am going back to doing just that.

A fine kettle of fish indeed.

Politics stink.

Throw the bums out so we can replace them with a fresh crop of bums.

Forever and ever amen.

Politics.

A place for actors to retire and continue acting (as if they were leaders) ?

ahhhhh good ole Reagan.. the "actor"

He allowed Gorbechev.. the leader of the communist world.. to LIVE in Calif..

rent free.....at the Presidio.....

and preach at the US Universitys..

Yep.. ole Reagan sure was good for the ole USSR...

at the same time the Russian flag went.. RED WHITE AND BLUE....

No hammer and sickle flag any more...

don't think we can handle another Reagan....

Reagan made a "pact" with the communists... US jobs to CHINA.. and  Russian

Military to "inspect" the US...

Brain washing is what its all about.. and Reagan.. was reeeellly   good at it...
