There has been a lot of negative press about a plan to treat and recycle drill cuttings for use at a construction site in Guernsey County, Ohio. Does anyone have anything positive to say about this practice or know where it has been done with satisfactory results?

Depends on which part of the well the drill cuttings come from. I know that drill cuttings from the conductor are most likely placed around the well pad. Sometimes the same thing with the cuttings from the surface string. Usually anything after that will be placed in half-rounds and shipped off site for processing.

There should not be anything harmful in those cuttings as they are within the freshwater zone so even if no drilling took place they would possibly be in contact with the freshwater that is there.
