I bought a piece of property with a existing gas lease. It will expire in the fall of this year. They drilled a well and capped it about a mile from my property 2 years ago. There has been no activity in my area since. There is no pipeline in my area yet. Does the gas company have to pay me to extend the lease? Can they take gas from my property and pay me royalties without a lease?

You have to read your lease. It may have a shut in clause, storage clause, delayed rental clause and the clauses go on and on.......
Everything you need to know is in that paperwork.

if its a mile away u prob arent in that group but like kathleen says it is all in the paperwork
