included in a unit or not included in a unit, how do you know for sure?

I am confused to the many differing answers I have received about being in a unit. I was told in the early process of a well pad being placed near me I was included. I am being approached weekly by landmen wanting to repurchase my mineral rights. I do not own a huge amount of acreage, a little over 17 ac., I just need the facts, recently told by a landman I should sell to him because I am 600 yards short of the unit.  I just need to know for sure. Is there a way I can find this out?  I have made calls to the person whom we signed our chesapeake contract, but does not return, any info would be appreciated

the concern I am having is not so much for myself as at some point down the road if I were to receive royalties, how I make sure they are transferred to my children, guess thats a good question for an attorney

Rebecca,

I can't offer any hints on finding units, just some comments on the offers. I leased a few years back. Almost from the day the lease was filed, started to get approached to sell out my mineral rights. They said "You're not in a unit, why take the chance of being left behind and never getting a return on your property?". Eventually I was included in a unit. Still get approached, but now the script goes "Your well is not producing, why take a chance that it might not prove productive? Sell to us now and get sure money." I know delay is because there is no gathering line yet, but nearby wells are producing at good rates. Fully expect that when well goes into production I'll still be getting contacted with some pitch like "Why risk a rapid decline in production rate or drop in price as more gas is produced? Sell to us now for sure money." As others have said, you have to decide what best fits your needs, but don't take the sales pitch of the acquisition groups as anything more meaningful than a sales pitch.

Thanks Tom,  Exactly, one stood in my kitchen and said I can give you enough money right now to buy a condo in Florida and live easy,  and then he said " Why would you want to stay here when you could be long gone before anything happens! Been happy here for 38 years, so think I'll stay put!

Where on the ODNR site do go to get the platt info?
Okay I was able to bring up a completions report for the Ryser well #1-25H. With API#34067210710100
But then could not find the plat map?
Our 160 acres sit just North of the Ryser property
From what I can tell the plat information isn't posted yet for the Ryser well. I was able to find plat PDF for the Boy Scout well
Found a 2nd Ryser well #2-25H. This one does have the plat map.
Thanks for the Help!
