My extended family has the oil & gas rights for 137 acres we won when the decision came down on the dormant minerals act. There are 30 members of the family holding various percentages of a share of the rights. Two people have refused to sign a lease at this point. We haven't contacted the company who wants to lease yet since there is still a chance that these 2 people might sign. The property is located in Ohio.

What are the laws about when a well is planned & only a small percentage of people refuse to sign? Are they required to? Can they be left out of the deal so that things can move forward? How does this work?

Thank you DESJR.

They can be forced pooled by law in the State of Ohio. If you'd like an independent free review of your lease let me know.
