Marcellus in Eastern Ohio?

Hi,

Does anyone think eastern Ohio has enough Marcellus shale to worry about when drawing up or revising a lease? I know or was told it thins out coming into eastern Ohio (columbiana county) and is there anything that in time above the Marcellus or below it that may be worth something later?
If I revise my lease I might fight to have it say only from the queenston down since right now it says all except coal, gravel, etc. but I'm not sure it's worth it and if it would be better to try and get some other change. What I have no idea yet.

12463 gas in 44 days = 103386 mcf in a year. Another Marcellus well that won't pay for itself.

The Marcellus in PA is much thicker, potentially yielding more volume of gas.

I searched all over that site and I can not find the Marcellus report so I emailed them asking where it is. As I was on the site it's clear the further south you go in parts of ohio the Marcellus is much thicker in the 5000-6000 range. More north it thins to around 3000-4000.
In PA where they drilled the most wells is 6000 and above.

The Marcellus is not that thick anywhere in Ohio. I'm not sure where you got them but those numbers are probably the depth to the Marcellus formation.

Your right It was the depth not thickness. I used this link and even though the thickness was right above the depth I used the wrong one.

Utica Shale,

It appears to me that every time something positive about the Marcellus in Ohio is posted here, you attempt to discredit it. Is it a coincidence that your user name is the same as the formation you seem to be promoting? The landowners of eastern Ohio need to realize that the oil companies leasing our lands will benfit greatly now and in the future by not divulging the potential of all the formations beneath us.....the Marcellus being the most obvious.

Just the kind of reply I expected. We are both making assumptions about the Marcellus in Ohio. Your's are negative, and mine are positve. Do you own land and/or mineral rights in Jefferson, Belmont, or Monroe counties? If you own land in Ohio, do you have Marcellus wells in your part of the state?

The Ormet well is being choked back due to lack of infrastructure. In the Appalachia MH April 2012 "Corporate Presentation" to investors, look closely at page 28 "Marcellus Operations" and the Ormet well reference.
