Monroe Co OH; Franklin Twp. Utica East Ohio Midstream

Checking the Franklin Township Plat Map which is current as of today's date:  Frances Burkhart  has sold

70.50 acres to Utica East Ohio Midstream, LLC in section 18.

 

Guess I am waiting to see which acreage in the area of the 40 acre Texas Eastern Transmission acreage sells next and who the buyer will be.

That's funny.  Everybody is selling out in section 18!   It must be the three phase power line already strung to the Berne complex, added to the Texas Eastern pipeline?  Something in the water?

I vote for the Christman acreage to go next.

Hiker, what section is the Christman property that you are referring to?  I don't see the Christman name on any property around Texas Eastern

It's my elderly plat map.....I show G. Christman on both sides of county road 44 with a total of 68.6 acres in NW corner of section 18, immediately west and contiguous to the Berne property.   There is more Christman property north a bit on Cty 44 (the gravel quarry probably).

Not really a surprise is it Bob.  It is exactly what you have been telling us in some of your most recent posts.  Just like you I am seeing future jobs flowing to the Gulf.  Sort of the age old take the minerals and resources of the Appalachian area elsewhere.  Where are the governors of OH PA and WV, especially Gov K of Ohio, does he only want the money flowing in Columbus, Cleveland and Cincinnati?

Nah, not enough soap boxes is the problem.  Maybe if we had a more powerful shale association we could get the Gov's attention!  But the only way that could happen is if we had more folks who really cared and less bystanders.  If this administration doesn't do something soon to try and entice the business world to invest in the Ohio Valley, they will go down the drain in the next election.

  • The Christman property is Darren and Kathy Dimmerling property. That would complete a circle around TETCO.

A large portion of the Bach acreage south of the Berne Complex has now been clear cut.  They are getting ready for something big.

     Hiker,

       Just  about half of the area east of CR44 was clear cut.  Most of that is hillside; pretty steep in some places.  Last time I went by there, they were grinding trees into mulch.  It appears they stopped where the old TETCO microwave cable came down over the hill.  The ridge on top of the  hill has a good bit of area, but is puzzling to me why they would clear cut the entire hillside.  Maybe it's -because they can.

For those living out of the area: the foreground where the processor is is in West Virginia; the blue is the Ohio River complete with towboat barging coal downriver; the highway curving by the river is State Route 7 in Ohio; and off to the extreme upper right and out of the picture is Clarington, Ohio.

If Markwest builds another on the acreage they purchased next door, rural Monroe County is in for a real surprise.  Thanks for the picture of what's ahead Bob, and the description Searcherone.   Really interesting stuff.
