The above link will not  get you to the entire article.

Use a search engine with the words:

times leader martins ferry February 28, 2016 website cracker

that search should allow you to read the entire article which is a fairly good summary of the session with the elected officials.

However, to be fair to Sen. Gentile he did mention the Eisenbarth well pad fire in regard to communicating between local responders and well pad operators and oil and gas companies.  He never said anything

about   70K fish being killed and personally I think that was 70k aquatic species, not all fish.

IMHO Ohio State Senator Gentile used a couple of terms in his remarks that need to be in play frequently and they are:

BALANCE   and  TRANSPARENCY

Ohio Shale counties we need to be making comments to Senator Gentile as we landowners could use some balance and transparency.  Just my opinion.

We need to be calling everyone on the Senate Energy committee to voice our opinions on Ohio HB8.  This would allow them to tax the "reserves'' for property valuations.  It changes the terminology from production to reserves.  In essence we would get taxed on the same product twice; first as a property tax and then again as income tax.  What happens when a well is shut in and the mineral owner isn't receiving royalties???  What happens if there is a problem with a well and it can't be produced?????  This part of the legislation got added in to the last 2 pages of the bill.

That sounds like a BS system.  Reserves??  Estimates are always changing.  Always possible that your property is never produced.  What an awful idea.
