Do you guys think the Utica is productive all over Marshall? And Marcellus?

Wow I wish we were getting $3/MMBtu.  Truth is, with the basis differentials, we are seeing realized prices closer to $1/MMBtu in Appalachia.  That's why there are so many shut in wells and we are seeing the DUC inventory on the rise -- no one wants to produce right now because they're giving the gas away.

It's also worth mentioning that IP rates are attention grabbing but those production rates fall off dramatically.  Here's a real brief summary on decline curves I recently wrote.  I think it's important for a lot of mineral owners to understand how quickly production from these wells can fall off so they don't make poor financial decisions during flush production.

Thank you Jason Cooper for the link to the really good article on decline curves. You explained it well.
