I would like to hear opinions about which oil company drills the best well. Please give specific reasons for your choice and any firsthand experiences you have had.

Ah ok, I thought PA was behind in the reporting area..

We have had marcellus wells producing for a while now in PA and still only get data every six months. Makes it complicated if you want to compare production figures from the state site to production figures on royalty check detail. With the technology we have today they should have real time reporting!!

SWN, then Range, then cabot, Talisman, Cheaapeake,

Oildude, there really is no "best". Every company drilling wells has experts from the people in the field drilling the well, to a team in an office, ie drilling engineer, geologist. They take the data coming back from gammas and such from the MWD and samples being checked by the mud logger to maximize the wells production, and to make it as cost effective as possible. Most times you will have litle choice in who wil drill your well, unless Ohio prooves to be different, each company finds an area that they like and will concentrate in that area to minimize the costs on rig moves. So it is likely your only option will be whoever starts leasing in your area, that is who you will have to go with if theyre interested.

Which? Two factors, local geology, how well do they know it, its potential and  ii. how skilled is the operator in capturing efficiency. As time goes by, gascos leaen more and get better, be the 30th not the 1 well.

High grade co don't watse capital, thus SWN, COG, APC and RRC round out the best. CHK TLM after that.

Whoi you leasse to may nit end up drilling under you.

I would think a better question would be, who does the best completion job on a drilled well. My point, most companies can drill a good well, but what co hires and gets the best results from their completion crews?

From my observations, and experience with Chesapeake, Chief does a first class job, and they are faster than Chesapeake. Chesapeake as a company, can be summed up with one word.... arrogance. They are slow to do EVERYTHING, have more incidents and accidents, and could care less if the landowner is happy. They take a minimum of 90 days to make address changes. Their partners do it in one to three days. Their midstream company is very careless and they deny responsibility for issues they caused, even after DEP fines!! They promise all kinds of things, transfer the people who make the promises, then deny agreements. Get it in writing if you're dealing with these dirt bags!
