This Marcellus thing is really getting exciting. I had the pleasure of meeting the systems engineer for one of the major exploration companies in our area. He said there would be a lot of pipeline work coming to our area soon. He also stated that if the price of nat gas were to spike we will not believe the increase in activity around here.

I live in Lycoming county....theres alot of activity around here with chief and XTO.....I had the unfortunate experience of a water truck loosing its breaks and landing in our yard. We pulled driver to safety. What a mess. Hes ok, he lost his breaks coming down a hill in Penn Township. Good luck to all gas workers. We are hoping they drill on us, as do others.

I'm aware of drilling occuring or to shortly occur in several townships (Cogan House, Penn, Upper Fairfield, etc), but would like to hear of more pipeline activity. Although at $3.20 to $3.80, I'm not sure people would want their gas to go to market. I am encouraged by the recent announcement of Halliburton of the building of the concrete plant in Muncy for the gas industry. I had heard from multiple sources that industry representatives like Lycoming County for a longer term presence (airport, housing, workforce/Penn College training programs, amentities). Absent a basis for a price advance, I believe development will be slow. The importation of large quantities of LNG from Qatar in this environment is absurd and one can only wonder what political deals were swung for such trade/no tariff agreements. All in all, I am optimistic, but I think it will take a lot longer to roll out than many had hoped and I doubt we'll see wells every 80 acres as originally speculated at full buildout... absent significant movement on the demand side.
