CGG Veritas showed up at my house, wanting me to sign a contract allowing them to do seismic testing on my land in Karthaus Twp. $5/acre. The fellow left a contract and then mailed me some more info and called a few days later. I told him I was not interested. My reasoning: They do the testing and sell the results to gas companies. If there is a fault or some other reason not to drill, I'll never get a lease. I'd rather lease and let the gas company take the risk. The testing looks fairly invasive, they need to build dug roads, drill lots of holes, set off charges, etc...

We have property in Covington township. There has been a lot of activity recently with offers to perform Seismic testing. The company is CGG Veritas and they're offering $5/acre. Has anyone had experience with Seismic testing?

Does anyone have any information on leasing activity in greenwood twp, clearfield county. I know there was alot of shallow leases here, but is there any marcellus activity yet?
