How would one know if a gas company is looking in your area?
Do landowners advertise themselves somehow as a prospective lease site or is it more of a wait and see kind of thing? Still a mite confusing to me.

Northern Wayne (and eastern Susquehanna) north of Dyberry Twp. It's a convoluted lease but the basic deal is $3000/a with a 20% royalty and a good many environmental clauses. The lease was written from scratch not from a Hess lease.

Buckingham,
What parts of Wayne County are dealing with Hess? What are they offering?
Thanks

I have a Hess lease and I know of no problems. The leases (70,000+ acres) were signed in July. The only glitches have been a slow turn around by the Wayne County courthouse on paperwork and a question each land owner has to personally answer on how to work their own tax status.

It's easy to say that any group leases which exceed the Hess lease in dollars may not have happened if NWPOA did not sign first and show it was possible.

We heard that people were dropping out of the Hess deal, after a glitch in the lease and then the better offer for Friendsville group...anyone with knowledge of that? Fortuna said they were expanding daily and to check with them the first of November...

Just a test, to see if this works.

Why do you feel things will be happening soon? It seems that the red tape is extensive. There are also those opposed to drilling for whatever reasons. As a resident and property owner, I believe deeply that this area needs this economic opportunity desperately. Jobs are nonexistent. Residents have trouble keeping land in the family. Safe, sensible drilling would be a Godsend for Wayne County.

Good to see a Wayne County forum. Things will be hopping soon.
