I’m a little confused about this article. EOG owns the mineral rights but not the surface rights. They want to place several wells on the land surface but the current land (surface owner?) doesn’t want the wells on his hunting land. How is it that EOG can force or sue the surface owner? Do I have this correct? Thank you
