Does anyone have up to date info on drilling around New Martinsville? Have some property in that location. Is anyone having any dealings with Chesapeake? THANKS for your time
Regarding Marshall County, the two companies that seem the most active there right now are Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based CNX Gas Corporation (NYSE:CXG) and St. Marys, West Virginia-based Trans Energy Inc. (TENG.OB). Also, Columbia Gas Transmission has two large storage fields in the County and a a natural gas processing plant plant near Majorsville close to the PA border.
Jack, not sure what Chesapeake is up to in Wetzel County, but Trans Energy has several Marcellus shale wells there. Here's a link that may help with their locations: www.waytogoto.com/wiki/index.php/Trans_Energy_Inc.
A Cheasapeake landman told me they own Columbia gas which is a very old company that has been in W.Va a very long time. Do you know what leasing terms are in Marshall County presently? Thanks. R.
Hello, I saw on another website that Carizzo Oil has filed for permits in Hardy, Grant, and Hampshire counties. If someone could confirm this and tell me what zones are targeted I would appreciate it.
Interesting. Carizzo has literally been all over the map, although a bit of a late comer to the scene. Hardy, Grant, and Hampshire counties are considerably east of where most of the action has been. Last week there was a report of a company drilling all the way over in western Maryland, so apparently there is a move afoot to test the eastern limits of the Marcellus shale fairway.
I am attempting to start a group for Marion County, WV land/lease owners, I haven't been very successful obtaining lease information from any other Marion County residents, either from our neighbors or the internet. I have discovered, however, that there is great differences in acreage and royalty percentages, county to county. We are leased to XTO Energy and would welcome discussion of anyone else's opinion, information and/or interaction, with that company.
Triana, Marathon join forces in Marcellus Shale play
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Charleston-based Triana Energy announced it has joined forces with a subsidiary of Marathon Oil Corp. to develop 82,000 acres of Marcellus Shale natural gas property in Fayette County, Pa., and several northern West Virginia counties.
Chuck-- I notice they have that communitygaspartners.com domain hooked up now to a biofuels company. It isn't the same one I was referring to. That one seems to have disappeared for good down the memory hole. All I remember about it is they were headquartered in Weston, but have no other info. --Tom
Tom, thanks have you heard of Mountain Oil ?? talked to them the other week (bad news) the Pres. has an ego that walks around by itself. Never returns a call and is nasty when ask about anything. stay away !!!
Charles, are you talking about Mountain V Oil and Gas? If so our family met with Jamey and he was a very much of a gentleman. Haven't signed with them though.
Bernie, Who offered $1000 ? the best I have had was 500 they backed out the next offer was $150 also has anyone heard of EGT or EQt O/G I heard they are drilling in Doddridge Co Chuck
Charles-- Thanks. If you click on the "Discussion" tab at the top of that EQT page, you'll find contact info. Most companies are covered the same way on WikiMarcellus. --Tom
i am trying to find out if chesepeak is drilling in tyler county wva? if not when are they going to start i have 302 acres around alma. can anyone give me answer?
What would be the consequences if my surrounding neighbors sign a lease and I don't. Will they rob the gas from under my property if they drill and is that legal?
i recently have found out that i own the mineral rights on 17 ac. in wayne county west va. in genoa township. there is a pipeline that runs thru part of my land thats owned by a gas company. do any of you know about any o&g companies that are looking to lease gas rights in the area?? thank you for any information.

Wonder what your royalty might be? Here's a fun way to "estimate" your royalty payment for a year. Entertaining, but not very informative.
