Hi: today I will ask about another well that has been permitted. I have some interest in the Piggott well # 1& 2, somewhere near Arnold's Creek, does anyone know anything about these two wells as well as the Holden well in my post above? All have been permitted and Issued, and all are in Doddridge County.
Hello! I'm new to this site. I'm being solicited to sign modification for lease to oil and gas rights in this county. Anyone know of a good reference in the county I can talk to about this? Legal reference would be great! Didn't know until they called I had an interest from a great grandmother.
Rafael, I recommend Kyle Nuttall on this forum. He is an attorney and lives in the next county to the east of Doddridge. It is always wise to have an attorney review anything you sign.
I guess the modification is to increase the unit size? If you read on this forum you will find that many people are able to get something in return, like maybe an amount of money per acre or something modified about the lease, when asked to sign this.
Do you know where it is? there are maps of oil and gas wells and permits that you can find.
Here is the official West Virginia Office of Oil and Gas website
You can go there, choose Doddridge as the county and select a range of recent dates, then "select" and see the dots show up on the map. You can zoom in and see details. If you see lots of wells and permits near your tract you know your land is valuable.
If you don't know, as the person who contacted you to give you some information about it.
Ask again here if you have more questions. We might have some answers or know where to direct you.
In my opinion, the news only means that the southern Marcellus play is showing enough indication of good results to attract more companies to the game.

Everyone seems excited about the American Energy news. Can someone explain how this effects future lease offers in those counties?
