Have not had one. We have mineral rights on several acres in Greene county from our grandparents. My sisters and I have received a contingent fee agreement from a Greene County attorney with virtually no info about what is going on. The attorney wants to take an immediate 8% from the bonus and all future royalties.

    Whats going on with this marcellus gas is new to all of us and it has caught us all not knowing what to do for our best intrest. I to am trying to learn what to do that is best for me and my family later down the road.
    As for your question (Can a PA lawyer proceed with negotiating my mineral rights if I haven't signed anything yet?) Unless you have give your power of attorney to osmeone to act in your behalf. "NO One" not even a lawer can act on your behaft in negotiating a lease with a gas Co. Did your sisters hire a lawer and he believes he is working for you as well? If so you best set the lawer straght befor it goes any more. As for paying with a % of "bonus & Royalties" "DON"T" do that.!!!!! All that will do is make them a millionair with your money for doing nothing in return. If you wish to have a lawer work on your lease pay them upfront and not with a %. No one can force you into anything. Nothing can be legal unless you sign. Learn all you can before you do anything. Time is on your side and there is no need to rush.

    Well no matter what you will need to sign or nothing will happen for any on you if you all own the land equal. Make sure you get your answers and if you don't think they are right. Please ask the member here to see what they think.

    Great to hear back from you, Cousin Shelli. I guess your Uncle Mike gave you the web address of this site, right? I gave it to him several weeks ago. I have visited with this attorney several times, and have been advised by my atty here in Ardmore NOT to give him any %age. Just pay a fee to look at a lease. My email addy is marj447@aol.com.
