    Francis, your advice in general is well founded, but I would have thought that those who have had some lease experience might have had some thoughts that they'd share as to their results.

    Francis, you're absolutely right. Although general information about personal experiences would be helpful, the definitive answer does require someone with legal background. In your own personal experience with the lease issue have you become aware of how/if/when the oil company enters the picture, and if it is reflected on the deed itself?
