Have not heard of many new leases in Tioga co pa , its like they have more land leased now than they can drill and pipe to for a year or so ? not a fact just the feeling i get in this neighbor hood ........

I don't believe CHK is in money trouble.  From what I have found out, they are still heavy into leasing but they are concentrating on getting their drilling units leased out.  If you are part of their drilling units and haven't leased yet, then they will be contacting you.  From what I can read in their company web page, they have more land leased than they can drill in 10 years. So it makes sense to now concentrate your efforts to get everyone signed that are part of their drilling units they put together. 

This is just my opinion.  I do not have any hard core facts.  Just what I can read

Recent actions are consistent with CHK game plan previously made public where it was stated they would be moving from their "Acquisition phase (lease signing)" to their "Developmental phase (drilling)" early in 2012.

Recent (VERY LARGE) landowner collective sign-ons may have "filled up the wagon" for the first phase saga.

If you read the CHK shareholder report, you will see where until they build up their drilling support, they will be very hard-pressed to get all lands already signed on drilled in the next 5-8 years.

I read in a business report at the end of last year that Chesapeake was going to stop leasing in the first Q of this year.  This was around the time they annouced the Joint Venture with another company.  I also read a conference call report that had them saying they are going to put billions into this area this year so to me this was conflicting info unless they meant that money would now go into drilling.  They have so much land tied up right now and need to drill.  In places on this site people are wondering if this is a way to drop the prices on the leases.  If the landowners get worried they might sign lower.  I don't know.  I've read also they are not the only ones doing this and some companies including Chesapeake are cherry picking now to get their units sured up.

I hope they come back to both of you and give you a great offer once the drilling really gets going.
