Today Gulfport released 3rd quarter results.  On their website under investor tab the show a new presentation.  On page 10 they have a map showing part of Ohio.  You can blow it up it shows where their leased acerage is.  What is thye significants of the line marked with an A  and a prime sign starting in Carrol Co. and wiggling down thru Guernsey county?  Would really appreciate infor on this as it looks like my property is extremely close if not on this line.  THANKS!

On the presentation, I believe that it is actually on page 8.  If you look at the points that the line is connecting, in the legend, it shows that these orange diamonds represent "cross section wells".  From what I can see also, the "A' point" starts in Columbiana Co. & the line ends at "point A" which appears in Noble Co.   Perhaps someone with more industry knowledge could elaborate on what a "cross section well" actually is & why they would draw the line connecting them?

Yeah, a few things going on.   Those diamonds noted on slide 8 are the wells shown in the bottom of slide 9.  Note, on the map the green->red gradient in the background.  This is their interpretation of the wet->dry window of Utica (green being more liquids prone, red being dry gas).  They are using these wells to connect the acreage Chesapeake has been active in and compare their (Gulfport) acreage.

They are trying to make the point that the results seen in the Chesapeake region should be consistent - in the well x-section (slide 9) they make the point that the Utica/Point Pleasant section maintains a simliar thickness and character therefore extrapolating results from one area to another should be valid.  You can see their interpretation of the Point Pleasant stays about the same thickness through the section, but the Utica thickens somewhat to the North.

PLEASE NOTE - this is all according to this presentation.  Not saying that I agree or disagree, just interpreting the presentation with respect to the questions posed here.

Cheers!

Thanks for the information, I listened to their investor call which is avilable on the Gulfport website.  It occured yesterday and provides some valuable insight into what is going on.
