We believe there is quite a mass of WELLS coming on in Wilmot Twp Se Bradford  and Cherry Twp, Sullivan

County.      Occasionally we are able to oick up some IP and tie-in dates, but rare.

Any sense there was a lot of staff turnover yr end Chesapeake, revenue and dividion order depts.

?

Any Ideas regarding a sourcde for   tie-in-dates  IP    data?  TIA

I am aware of 3 well pads (6 wells) in southern Terry townsh that began producing in November. I have not driven other the well pads outside of this area to confirm production. When I drive past a well pad I pause and listen for the sounds of production or, in this cold weather, check the pump stacks for heat from the exhaust.

There are two inactive pads on the Carr farm....we were told they would go on line in January, but I don't think that has happened yet.

Don't know what's up.........?

in addition to ip numbers, it's becoming more important to find out what interval they drilled and how the well was completed.

in 2013, this area has been mostly toe frac'd and many wells are not in the lower Marcellus anymore.

Jim: new on the board here. What does the term "toe" mean. Thank you.

hey john, I'm a newbie myself.

ok, picture a horizontal well, looking at it from the side. consider the vertical portion the leg, the turn is the heel, the horizontal portion is the foot, and all the way out at the end of the foot, would be the "toe" of the well.

in a toe frac, they do just a few stages of completion out at the end of the well. this lets them gather production information to assess the well and therefore the area's productivity, while not producing so much gas as to put the companies total production out of line with their marketing objectives. it's also cheaper since the frac company is only there a day or 2 instead of a week or weeks.

that's a toe frac and why they do it.

another technique used to control production is to fully frac the well, but only drill out as many frac plugs as they need to accomplish their goal. shell does this in tioga county.

Can any one tell me if Chief purchased the Otten and John Barret Wells in Bradford County I know something is going on because Chesapeake has not cut a check and will not get back to me and keep sending me the same email!

Chesapeake has moved their royalty payment date to the last business day of the month as of jan 2014.i am in wellpool in Smithfield twp and they are deducting 60% off this months check!!the third party deduction we think is Aubrey mclendons return on investment and it adds up to a whopping 500+ dollars!

if you also have stat oil, did you get a check from them in january?  it seems no one that i know in smithfield twnshp has received a check from them, only a statement for the month indicating a date for a check, but no check.

chk has not sent checks....only the statement for '13.

i do not understand the huge increase in deductions by chk for january. can you please fill me in?

thanks

yes,I did receive check from stat in jan.I have some good addendums attached to my lease that stat honors but chesasneak just laughs at.the reason for the hugh increase in deducts is supposedly because they charged us for transport costs.tgp 300 pipeline was so flooded they diverted our gas on the tetco line [I think that is in nj]and doubled the price chk owed so chk just handed that bill right to us or so ive heard.also, chk will be paying royalties now on the last day of the month from now on.

I just spoke with Chief Oil and Gas Leasing.  Chief purchased a company, MKR, which was a subsidiary of Chesapeake. my understanding from the conversation is that if your lease was written by MKRnot Chesapeake, then your lease was purchased by Chief. You may verify  your standing with Chief in Asylum, Terry and Wilmot townships by calling the leasing department for Chief at 724-933-4252. The people are pleasant and helpful but can only answer questions as to what exists and not the "why" nor the future of a lease.

I'm also in the John Barret unit- cool to meet someone else in our unit!

I contacted Chesapeake because we didn't get paid in December or January. They told me that it had to do with transportation and processing deductions back dated from 2009-2010! They also said that our account was still negative - I don't expect a check from them this month, and very little next month. Needless to say, I'm not happy...
