Has anyone out there sold their mineral rights? If yes, what company or companies are on the up and up?  We would like to explore this avenue but most sure how to procede. Thanks for any help.

Hi Linda,

I just closed my first sale of mineral rights in West Virginia.

Where are your mineral rights, do you own the surface too?

You can send me your email through this site, if you want to keep the discussion off the board.

Hi Ann,  What is considered a small track? We have approx. 400acres.  Do you know where this company is located I can not find a web site for them?

400 acres is definitely a sizable chunk of land.

But FYI, it's a TRACT of land, not a TRACK.

Best of luck on your sale!

-Mike

I don't know your situation, but with 400 acres, it might be in your best interest not to sell your minerals unless you are in desperate need of cash. Your minerals will return many more dollars over time if you lease rather than sell your minerals. Remember, once you sell, your minerals are gone forever.
I would like to thank all of you who really gave me good information.  At this same time I want to let Mr. Nap know he wins, I will only be reading coments from others not taking part in any discussion myself.  I did not join this group to be corrected, I joined to share information with others.  Thanks again to everyone else.
Linda, please don't be like that. I, and I assume many others, came here to learn. Everyone's situation is a little different, but we can all learn from each other. I hope you will continue to participate.
I'll will still be here, let you all know if I have any success. Thanks again.
