I’m bringing this topic over from the shaleforum. Does anyone know the intentions of these guys? As of yesterday they have leased over 10,000 acres(April 2017- present) in Knox county. Some info from shaleforum members include: they are paying $100/acre for all strata and East Ohio Oil and Gas is a shell company for Western Land Services. Any other information is appreciated.

James, You are correct as Cabot geologist believe something is down there. Find this link to confirm your speculations.

Thanks Gary

link to the approved permit. It mentions production in a dolomite at around 4700’. That would be consistent with all the vertical wells drilled recently by MFC just NE in Ashland at around 5000’.

Looks like they're gonna try a horizontal Knox/Beekmantown well.. interesting to see how it works out.

This one appears not to be drilled in the storage field

Looks like they are plugging back a horizontal in the Knox formation and then drilling into the Rome formation.

Great info thanks ...

Other way around - drilling vertical to Rome and plugging back to go horizontal through the Knox. Knox is above the Rome

So vague. Cabot isn’t going to tell anyone exactly where they land.

According to this article, it appears they want to do 5 test wells, target the Rome and Knox.

Does anyone know if they have began to drill?

I’ve been meaning to get down there and check things out but haven’t. I did hear the 3rd well site will be 2 miles west of Loudonville.

Could be a nice pick up for $23.59/share. Cabot is in cheap on this acreage and shallow depths for drilling keep the costs way down.
