Just curious...

I am in Liberty township and a few months ago got an offer to buy my royalties for 1500 to 1800 per acre, but they would do a more in-depth look if I was serious which "mite change the numbers" slightly....even tho I am not drilled or receiving any royalties ..talked to a landsman rite b4 I contacted them and he advised caution as there will be "significant" activity in my area in the "near future"....how about it, anybody else get an offer or hear anything or see any activity here in Tioga Co. ?

Oops! I'd "found" the site with Google and hadn't made the connection. Hadn't gone past the first page to see that it would be a subscription service. Probably ~8 years ago Penn State Extension was signing people (including me) up for their proposed online Marcellus gas forum. They did the webpage but never opened it to posts.

I suggest that two reason for leaving this webpage up are (1) that it has very good Google placement and (2) is referred to by other site pages.

"Managing Volatility in Oil and Natural Gas Royalty Income on the Farm - January 17, 2017
... This project will address reading oil and gas royalty statements, understanding volatility in energy markets, and making farm management decisions based on expected royalty income. In addition, participating farmers, educators and industry supporters will gain access to Penn State's Royalty Calculator & Decline Curve Web App so they can visualize expected future royalty income. ..."

MarcellusGas.org might give you the information you want.

Drove past Grand Canyon airport last week. At end of runway to the left was a fairly large just completed well pad that was lite up.

Does anyone know the name and operator of this pad.....?

THANKS

Thank you Josie n Bob

Of equal note regarding the wells at the Houck pad; they originally drilled one Marcellus and one Utica there. Neither well appeared to be what I would term better than average, and the Utica would be considered less when compared to other Utica wells in Tioga Co. SWEPI had permitted a second Utica there along with the seven (?) Marcellus wells now being completed. There is no record of that Utica well being worked now.

Seems they decided to delay further Utica exploration at this pad. Aside from the obvious, anyone with inside knowledge here know why that well is not being developed? Too costly in the current price environment?

Are there any pipelines in the nearby area to gather up from the Houck pad and the other nearby wells? Seems to me that many wells have been drilled but have no gathering lines to move gas to a market!

Just a thought.

The Houck 26 Utica well was one of the poorest wells Shell drilled in Tioga County - it was down to less than 3M/day after only 8 or 9 months. I wouldn't expect any further development of the Utica in this area unless gas prices climb substantially or the company wants to test some new completion technique.

Those were our thoughts also....thanks Jack. An 80% decline (Houck 26H) in 9 months will have that effect.

Seems that the sweet spot starts 5-10 miles North and NE of Houck.

I have been curious why the Stanley 1106 pad in Osceola has not had any new wells permitted/drilled?

The decline at that single Utica well was one of the slowest/flattest rates I have seen in NC PA.

My impression is that Shell considers that decline curve a bit of a fluke, but they have drilled several wells nearby to confirm the potential of the general area and they've all been pretty good. Not necessarily better than some of the other top wells they've drilled elsewhere in Tioga County, but clearly the area around the Stanley well will be one of the first places to see development drilling once prices rise enough to make that profitable.

Question for Jack:

Are the prospects for NFG's WDA-CRV Utica "redevelopment" wells as good as they make them sound?
