Which companies might consider buying Infinity Natural Resources for it`s Marcellus/Utica development in Armstrong/Indiana counties? They seem to be doing well.

thanks for the info. The map he displayed seems like it is pretty high level so it is hard to say exactly where they operate, although it looks like Indiana and Armstrong counties but we know much of that area has been leased by CNX and INR. As to the future, just look at the wva, pa and ohio well maps in the core areas. Tons of wells already drilled. Not that many wells in those counties, seems to me people in that area are going to see a slow but steady increase in activity.
famgas, not sure if this vid is of interest to you, but some discussion of mergers/acquisition landscape in the Utica/Marcellus. Of interest I think to you is a statement that Southwest Appalachia has more running room than Northeast Pa, and is more likely to see business. In addition there is a prediction that the number of public companies is likely to shrink in the near future. (one of the deals mentioned is that Antero is marketing there Ohio Utica for $1 billion or so (although some don't think it is worth it as the best inventory has been already drilled).
Hart Energy Mergers and Acquisitions. One of the questions is whether or not a company like Snyder Brothers that operate in the area which seems to be of interest to you might be a target (not mentioned by them, but they have been mentioned as great operators for a family owned business)
Thanks, very interesting news. Snyder Bros is an interesting candidate for a buy-out. I hadn`t thought of them before you mentioned their name. The other large public gas company operating in the area is CNX Gas. Would they be a candidate for a buy-out, too?
One of the panelists mentioned that there are three public companies (other than EQT) and she said that the over under on 3 in the future, go for the under. CNX might be the best bet (out of Range, CNX and Infinity) Not sure why Antero and Gulfport aren't included, maybe because they are WVA and Ohio focused.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
