Have been getting royalties from Ascent Resources for awhile.  Get paid for gas, condensate, and plant products have never been paid for oil on any of the statements.  My question is what is plant products, it is sold by the gallon.  Thanks.

It's the same for us. I hope someone replies with an answer because I'm curious as well.

Plant products are things like propane, butane, etc. Condensate is a type of oil, very high gravity, clear, looks like coleman lantern fuel. A lot of the Utica wells don't make true "oil" but rather just gas and condensate, thus you aren't getting any oil royalties. Unfortunately, condensate sells for like $19/bbl because so much coming from Utica and Marcellus right now. The plant products payment is a good thing actually, means they are accurately accounting for all the value of your butane, etc., that comes out of the gas. Some places in Utica don't get this because the midstream (pipeline) companies are raping the producers. It all depends on what pipeline company they are working with. If there is only one pipeline in an area the operators and royalty owners are generally getting "bent over the apple barrel" by the pipelines. If there is some competition you both will do better.

Hope this helps....
