Any idea who may be leasing on the north eastern site of Westloreland County?
  • May

Rex Energy and their joint venture partner Williams are actively leasing in Derry Township.
  • frank

rex is fracing 2 wells on the pannizi bloc as of now and, has started drilling another on the eaglehouse plan here in derry twp. all horizonals
  • Ray Glenn

Justin, What do you do? Are you in the businesss?
  • Mark Rial

Looking for info of activity in Upper Burrell twp, specifically just south of Alcoa Technical Center.
  • Justin McCartney

A company named the Barons Group had permits for Upper Burrel Twp.
  • Brian

Derry twp is indeed getting a lot of activity. Seismic testing is going on all around. Williams took over for Rex in the area as of Jan. 1. From what I hear the landmen are out signing people. I know of one farm near me that signed in the end of December.

Looking for gas processing plant operator jobs if anyone can help

I saw a well being flared today where 819 and 119 run parallel between salem twp and greensburg. I think Atlas is in that area.

Also, saw a well being flared in Derry twp in the Atlantic area...they moved the rig over to the Slavek unit and have been drilling another horizontal. You can see the rig from Keystone Rd. Its Union Drilling Rig number #124.

I'm hoping Williams decides to bring another rig to Derry.
  • Justin McCartney

Brain, I just posted a pic of that Atlas flare that my wife took last night, wish we would have gotten some during daylight, still learnin with the new Nikon
  • frank

a second drilling rig, on the slavek unit has just been set up about 1/2 mile up the road, from my residence.this rig dwarfs the other rigs, that have been drilling in this area.it is huge, it can be seen very easly from the road side. on atlantic road off 982 in new derry go to top of hill past the water tank. its worth the drive, for derry twp residence who are intrested in gas exploration and production in this area. truckers informed me this rig was brought in from wyoming. i have 5 acres in the panizzi unit #! which consists of a total of 390 acres and 3 wells in production. we have been getting royalties the past 3 months, the last check was from williams who has taken over rex's existing horizonals in this area.

Frank - have you heard where Williams is drilling after Uschak's?
You're right - that rig is worth the drive - we watched them setting it up. It definitely dwarfs the other rig.
  • frank

with 5 wells in the uschak unit, they will be tied up for a while, unless they put another rig into play.
  • Carol

Frank - any idea what's taking them so long on the Slavek unit? I haven't heard anything for a while. Thought you might know.
  • frank

carol, they have 2 rigs drilling on the slavek unit , my understanding is the large rig they set up above my place on the sharp curve, will shorten the drilling time, compared to the rigs that have been drilling in the area. i think this rig will be going to uschak's when completed with this well. william;s has taken over this areas drilling operations and existing wells , williams letter head has been on the last 2 royalty checks. got a surprise todays check had some sizable deductions, some type of surcharges or taxes passed on to the propety owner. one is marked fuel and the other is marked gth(gathering) i don't know if these are federal or state levies???? if anyone out their knows what these charges are let me know? as i said information i get is second hand either from local residents or well workers good luck
  • DM

Frank. . I would love to find out more info from you we have property there in westmoreland (east huntingdon) but are out of state and just trying to find out more about drilling permits etc etc.
  • frank

dm i would like to help, but i am a retired construction worker who happens to be living right in the middle of about 8 of these horizonal wells. these wells are some of the first, if not the first wells drilled in westmoreland county. it was late 08 or early 09 when we signed for 200 an acre. once the drilling in this area stared leases were going for 10 to 15 times that per acre. i know of people who got 2500 an acre 2 months ago 1mile up the road. there are lots of gas companies that got into play in the area, you may want to call several of these companies , or a land agent, tell them you are interested in leasing your propety, they are all looking for acreage to lease, if it is in the marcellus fairway so to speak. good luck
  • DM

how can i find out where the w ells are on a map? I would like to find out how far away they are from our property.

    Thanks and good luck!

    DM
  • Carol

DM - check the PA DEP website. It's not the easiest to navigate, but the maps are on there.
  • Jim Bollibon

    DM,
There is a fee based web site that is used in the industry known as the PA IRIS site. (http://www.pairis.state.pa.us). You might be able to contact the USGS office in Pittsburgh at Washington Landing in the PADEP buildings and get them to assist you.

Williams is leasing and drilling in Derry twp. They have 10 units , 7 units are drilled. Talk to Williams Landman the other day, he just finish the NMS Unit and the Frye (Roger Frye) unit. He told me he is starting on the Skacel North and Skacel South units, (Frank Skacel parcel) there is also a Mcbroom Unit.
  • J. Rossi

Ladies and gent, this is to inform you about Ed Bilik and Gary Lynn. They are going around trying to get landowners to lease with them, the leases will go to Williams, but they are taking 10% of the landowners upfront bonus money and trying to get the landowner more money, Williams will not pay the more money because they are trying to be a fair company and give everyone the same amount of bonus money.
  • J. Rossi

To all landowners in South Donegal and North Fayette areas.2 new Landman from Williams are in the area, Steve Daubar and Adam Chambers. Williams will be building units.
  • DM

would love to get the contact info. . I am in Dunbar
  • Carol

Ed Bilik got me more money. Also, they are not taking 10% of the bonus money.  Williams doesn't pay everyone the same amount per acre - it is negotiable.  Just like all parts of the lease are negotiable - including deductions and royalty percentage.

Sewickley Township has signed a no-drill lease with Chevron at the Crabapple park and pool. Maybe this will let the township upgrade some things.

Does anyone know if there is any new drilling planned in the Cook Tw/Stahlstown area?

  • Nicholas J Ridout

I just joined this forum.  My father owns some property in Murrysville and received an offer from Huntley and Huntley for a 10 year non-surface lease.  They say they are not allowed to drill in Murrysville but his property is near the border and they can come in underground from another site.  They seem to have some dealings with Range Resources but the guy told me they are planning to drill themselves but are waiting for gas prices to go up to make it cost effective for them.  I guess that's why they want a 10 year lease.  I took the lease to a real estate lawyer who says it's standard and sign it if you're happy with the terms.  Seemed like a waste of $400.  Any comments /suggestions?   Thanks.
