It is permitted as a vertical but the unit is an odd shaped 594 acre unit with 3 parcels in the middle that are not part of the unit. My guess is that this well was drilled to hold old leases in "HELD BY PRODUCTION"

They are the mostly rectangular but several of them have interesting bends in them. Probably to go around a parcel that they don't have the lease on.

Why not negotiate (or insist) on a copy of the seismic results for your property if they want to go across your land to do this work? You're the owner of the O&G until you sign a lease. Don't worry about reading the results... you'll want an independent geologist to explain them to you so you can verify the information. All townships and municipalities should insist on this!

They have a table breaking down all Ohio counties in the Utica play and a general going rate for leases in that county. Other articles too. Any info would be helpful, thanks. Geez Scott, that is too bad. What will you do about the mess? There are so many people in Harrison County and Belmont that have these $5 an acre leases(5 yr term) that are due to expire this year and next. I wonder if Oxford is going to do this destruction to all of those landowners, too? If you have a lease with Chesapeake and haven't been paid? Good luck! DPS Penn told me if you don't have a clear title to your land you are not getting paid. This includes a mortgage!!! I received my letter on August 12 which said my titled failed because of my mortgage. I contacted their Belmont County landman and he said its not the language in it, just that I have a mortgage. He also said they are not leasing any more land in Belmont County. He stated that their are a 100+ leases that will be canceled because of this.

One is on Hess-leased land in Ohio's Belmont County. It is producing 2,985 barrels of oil equivalents per day and 29 percent liquids. The well name is the Richland B 1H-34.

Firm Transportation on Rockies Express Pipeline and ANR Pipeline
To secure the movement of Gulfport's Utica Shale production out of the basin, the Company recently entered into a firm transportation agreement with Rockies Express Pipeline beginning in mid-2015 for a term of 20 years for 175,000 MMBtu/day of gas originating from Gulfport's acreage position in Belmont County, Ohio.
