Good  deal Scott, hopefully the rest of us are due to be delivered shortly. Have fun and spoil yourself a little.

  • Philip Brutz

Buy American or better yet buy Ohio!  Lets put this influx of money back in our local economy.  China doesn't need any more of our jobs.

  • scott peterson

Thanks guys. Hope everyone get a delivery on Monday!

  • Jeanette Krunich

I heard about Wishgard leasing for Gulfport (Harrison County) and Londonderry Twp of Guernsey County in February 2011, then Chesapeake in April 1011.  Joined a landowner group in July 2011 and our group signed with Shell Oil (SWEPI, Inc) October 19, 2011.  Up front bonus $5000 per acre for five years and 20% gross royalty.

  • brynmore

Jeanette Krunich thanks for the info and your time

  • Red Skelton

HMM! I think someone is a bit full of sarcasm. Don't know of anyune saying they were forced to sign. Why not be happy for those who have been blessed instead of acting like they shouldn't take the money.

  • brynmore

red skelton , what comment were you referring to that was sarcasm?

  • Red Skelton

Yes Cobra it did indeed look sarcastic and that's why I replied.

  • Philip Brutz

Cobra thank you for your constant fight against the con men.  The ilg-energy-lease thread is a good example.  It is worth reading from beginning to end.  You may want to consider writing an article about how the con went down.

  • Philip Brutz

    I am serious, Thank you

Chesapeake's RDHK is capped waiting to be fracked.  But, It will be Devon who fracks it.  Filing at the court house dated 1/17 shows Chesapeake appears to have sold their entire interest in Guernsey to Devon.  @600 leases and the RDHK well.  I found the doc after someone told me they pulled out because they found no wet gas or oil with their exploration wells.  also, that they sold at a steep discount?  Anyone have more info on this?

  • Philip Brutz

F Donia do you have a copy of that document that you would be willing to post?

  • F Donia

    Philip,

I have a paper copy from the courthouse.  It is rather lengthy.  I need to make it a PDF.  I'll see what I can do to get it up on Monday.

  • Philip Brutz

F Donia, Thank you, that is very interesting news.  The CHK landmen stopped calling me at the end of July.  I think that their finale offer was $2000 an acre 15%net.  Did anyone get a higher bid from them?

  • F Donia

It is instrument number 201200000377 bk 485 pg 2465.  It is back dated to Nov. 1st, 2011.

  • F Donia

    Mike,

I'm aware of their many joint ventures, all very vague as far as Guernsey.  This document looks like a cut and dry Bill of Sale.  I'll post it as soon as I am able.  I'm no lawyer, hoping someone lurking from CHK would supply some info and set me straight.

  • michael j belaj

Donia, I think Guernsey County is in a good location I work with several people in the industry and have heard positive information. I like what I have seen from Anadarko they are the most active in this area. When you see a company drilling and fracking as they have done in Guernsey and Noble County it is a good sign. Anadarko has two new location staked in Muskingum County and I think they have their location in Coshocton County ready to go.

  • Robert Bond

Mike, Sent you a message.  Thanks, Bob

  • F Donia

Here is the Chesapeake document.  Chesapeake Bill of Sale to Devon.pdf

    Frank

  • Philip Brutz

Frank, Thank you for posting the Bill of Sale.  I am not an expert but I agree with you it looks like a cut and dry Bill of Sale.

  • Philip Brutz

It looks like CHK sold only the western 2/3rds of Guernsey.

  • michael j belaj

We need competition to keep the price up with competition you will get better lease terms.

  • F Donia

    Philip,

That would make sense.  In Nov. 2012 Bill Williams discussed with our group how CHK had lost interest with west of I77 in Guernsey.

  • Philip Brutz

    Frank,

I was thinking the same thing.

  • michael j belaj

Like I said Guernsey County looks great Muskingum County looks better,

  • F Donia

My take is that the folks in Muskingum are not going to be made good offers until we know more about our county's production potential.  That's what the CHK action suggests to me.  These Companies have spent $100 of millions in bonus payments in Guernsey.  Billions when you look East towards PA, some have over done it big time.  They can't keep leasing if the assets to drill it all are not there, and more legislation in in the works in Ohio.  This play needs more proving with transparency so we see what develops together. Dream on, Frank.

  • michael j belaj

F Donia I read the agreement and every thing looks OK Devon is just another playeer in the Utica play. Muskingum County is good it has Oil and Wet gas that is what the drillers want I have siesmic lines and deep well logs for eastern Muskingum and it looks good. This week some one is running new seismic in Muskingum County that cost alot of money their must be interest.Guernsey County is  at $5,000.00 Muskingum will follow. Thanks Mike

China's Sinopec invests $2.2 bn in US shale firm
New York (AFP) Jan 3, 2012 - Chinese oil and gas giant Sinopec will invest $2.2 billion in Devon Energy, giving the firm a stake in exploring five US shale fields, a company statement said Tuesday.

In return for the investment state-run Sinopec would take a one-third stake in fields across the United States, in 125 wells, according to a Devon statement.

Oklahoma City-based Devon Energy will be responsible for running the projects and commercial marketing, it said.

The deal, if approved by watchdogs, would close in the first quarter of this year.

If you are leased with Gulfport you may want to listen in on their earnings call to hear their future plans/comments.  See the link....

My sister has 12 acres in adams twp guernsey county and lease with artex is coming due and they have called her and want to redo her lease. Does anyone have a phone # with another co that she could call and get and idea of what lease offers are going for. All ground surrounding her is held by Artex. thanks for any input.

  • F Donia

    David,

It is difficult to work a fair deal with Artex.  I spoke with someone the other day who has over 300 acres and all they will offer is $2000 and a crappy company lease.  With 12 acres you need to be patient and get in a group, so you have leverage and maybe even lease to another company.  Leasing has slowed not sure when and at what price it will get active again.  You could contact Attorney Bill Williams and get on his waiting list, he worked out very well for a large group of us last year.

Here is a link to info on him and his firm:

It looks like CHK is still interested in Millwood TWP.  They called me last night asking me if I signed a lease yet.

  • scott peterson

Interesting Phil. They throw any numbers out?

  • Jeanette Krunich

A couple weeks ago I was visited by Mason Dixon for CHK and they told me they were interested in the eastern 1/3 of Guernsey County.  Figure quoted to me was $5300 and 20%.  I gave a couple people on GoMarcellus the phone number and when they called the Landman said CHK was pulling out of Guernsey for right now, no more leasing.   Maybe it is the financial issues?  or something else?
