I am waiting to hear from attorney that negotiated the Shell lease.  Sent an

email Friday but no reply.  Called this AM and talked to the secretary she

is to have the attorney call me.  I assume he does not get paid if the leases do not close.

I just spoke with Bruce Dondzilla at swepIlp (Shell's leasing company).  He explained the process and validated that they had not anticipated the amount of time it would take to run the titles.  I asked if Shell felt they still had a lease, even though they had missed the 120 days.  The answer was yes, but it sounded as if someone could get out of the lease if they contacted them.  He is the last sign off before it goes to Shell for their review.  I asked how they selected, although he did not know for sure how they did it, he would begin with the largest parcels first and work their way down.  Sometimes small parcels sold off would then fall back under the larger parcel which had already been researched back to 1870.  He is to call me back on our particular contract.

FYI, I read the Antero lease and it is a good lease.  Almost mimics my KWGD lease word for word.

Anyone have contact info for Antero?

I received a letter in the mail today from "UTICA LANDOWNERS GROUP LLC. representing Antero Resources offering $5,900 per acre and 21% royalty for landowners in Millwood, Richland and section 2 of Wills TWPs.

Our draft says 120 days after receipt from our bank to their bank.  No date

is specified.

Imelda; The bank  that issues the funds from houston,tx. says that 120 "banking" days is more like 187 actual days. i need to get a job in a bank! wow, that"s alot of days off! Most of the drafts us Guernsey countians are holding have'nt even come to that date yet. My neighbor was informed his was expiring the 20th. My in-laws the 27th. Mine, May 7th. You go by the date the draft was issued.It's on the draft.They said everyone is gonna get paid,as long as the deed cleared, just dont expect it until the due date or slightly before. Again; how they can take off 67 days in 4 months is not even right! Maybe they took a spring break?

Does anyone know how this compares to the first two months of the Buell well?

As I recall this far exceeds the Buell in the oil department

Gulfport is still leasing.  They paid me on time.

gulfort is leasing this friday and saturday at pritchard laughlin civic center. 8-5 both days. if someone can provide the details as in bonus payments and royalties, i would appreciate it. i didnt make it to the meet and greet and live 200 miles away so im out of the loop except what i read on here.

I went to the meeting and have their handout.  Paying $5000 signing bonus and 20% net royalty.  Whole agreement is 12 pages and is not well written unless you are Gulfport.  KWGD's document was much better.  Here is a link to a well written landowner fair lease you can print and take to their sign-up as an alternative:

We saw a recent notice in the Noble County Journal for Lensman & Associates, Ltd talking about "a landowner group in Noble County" who recently "signed leases for oil and gas exploration on their properties." 

Can anyone tell me about this company or the group?

Kathy, Best bet is to go to the Noble Co page.. I know they have been discussed there often.

Has anyone been contacted by Rex Energy to lease their land?

Joined the forum today in hopes of finding a reputable company to lease with.  I signed with a landowner group in December and today received a letter from the company stating they have decided to reject the group. Bad news for a lot of people.

Have neighbors and other sources who dealt with Carizzo.  From what they have said.  Carizzo cherry picked and flipped to other companies.  Those they could not flip, they left high and dry.  In Spencer Tp.  Carizzo flipped to Gulfport and Anadarko.  Though some in Spencer still have heard nothing; I know of at least two who got paid last week. 

Carizzo is attempting to buy Sound Energy & Artex HBP acreage in Guernsey and Tuscarawas County.  7,700 Acres.  Guernsey County Townships of Monroe, Washington, Wheeling, Wills. 

Carizzo told me they were still leasing land in Monroe, Washington, and Londonderry Twp. for $5500 and 20%.  This was last week.

The letter I received stated the whole group.  Indicated that there were too many title issues within the group.  I had a bad feeling when they asked us to give them an extra 90 days.  I wish I hadn't signed the extension.  Spoke with someone today from Gulfport.  Didn't sound promising said they weren't actively seeking new leases.  Still haven't heard a word from group regarding this.

Rae, I talked to Nathan Vaughan at KWG&D who I highly recommend. He said they are currently putting something together for folks that dropped out of existing groups. He said to make contact with Tammy McCort e mail tmccort@kwgd.com and let her know he said to get in touch about leasing opportunities in Oxford Twp. Good luck. KWG&D is non committal by the way, you can leave them any time & the O&G pays their fee. I have been paid since Feb @ 5,000 acre & 20% gross royalty on the best lease I have ever seen.

In the Utica Shale, Gulfport spud its first horizontal well in February 2012 and spud an additional four gross (1.9 net) wells during the second quarter of 2012. At the end of the second quarter, three gross wells were completed and in their resting period, one gross well was waiting on completion, and one gross well was being drilled. Gulfport's first horizontal well in the play, the Wagner 1-28H, was recently brought online from its resting period and tested at a gross peak rate of 17.1 MMCF per day of natural gas and 432 barrels of condensate per day. Based upon composition analysis, the gas being produced is 1,214 BTU rich gas. Assuming full ethane recovery, the composition above is expected to produce an additional 110 barrels of NGLs per MMCF of natural gas and result in a natural gas shrink of 18%. In ethane rejection mode, the composition is expected to yield 41 barrels of NGLs per MMCF of natural gas and result in a natural gas shrink of 8%. Gulfport currently plans to produce the Wagner 1-28H into a natural gas pipeline at a rate of approximately 10 MMCF per day of natural gas. At present, two rigs are drilling ahead on the sixth and seventh wells of 2012 in the play.
