hey buddy... sorry to bother you but i have a quick question... Who in the area is in the Open hole Fishing. I live in west texas and it is slow as crap but everyone tells me that it is busy as all hell up there... please write back thanks Rick Craig.
I have many more pics. This logging tool was stuck at a depth of 10489'. We pulled out of the rope socket and fished it with an overshot. I really enjoy your site. I am looking to relocate to PA. I am a fisherman with Basic Rental & Fishing. Words has made it all the way down here on how great the shale is up there and work also.
Hi Keith, I was glad to find your site, I have found it very informational. We don't have any activity in our immediate area. I was wondering if there is a website that lists the proposed future sites????
Thanks...I joined because I am building and installing gas plants for Atlas in Pennsylvania and Tennessee and looking to expand our services with other operators...I hope this site will help....
Please tell me why a question like "Give us a synopsis of your last encounter with a landman" would be asked, unless to ignite (or throw fuel on) a "controversy" that shouldn't even exist. Kieth, please, amateurism has no place in business. Let's not "blog" this opportunity to death with pseudo-controversies. Those of us who really are professionals in the energy industry should aspire to act responsibly and professionally for the good of all involved... the "energy industry" mineral (as well as surface) owners and a nation that desperately needs responsible development of its energy resources at this time more than ever. Let's all do our part, responsibly and sensibly. O. K.? A grateful nation will thank us.
I am glad to have found this site. I have land in Northeast Pa. I am hoping for things to get better so I can find a good co and lease my land. I also have two neighbors with some land willing to go with me on a lease. I love the land and have managed it for the hunting and wildlife since 1990. With funds from a lease I could do so much to improve my land and habitat for wildlife. Hope it happens soon.
Hello Keith- I am an attorney with offices in Vestal ny and have been actively involoved in lease negotiations for many property owners in NY and to a lesser extent in Pa. I have recently been talking to ( three times)the president of a large privately owned oil and gas exploration company out west . He is interested in talking to either coalitions of property owners in Susquehanna county or individual property owners who own fairly large tracts in that county. Do u have any information about Susquehanna county coalitions or a website I can go to to get that information. thanks alan Zalbowitz
Thanks for the Welcome note - Question though - on the 'user page' how do I get the imported links to actually be hyperlinks rather than just palin test - do I have to apply the html wrapper with it?? Ron
I apologize, I thought the site was ment for the free exchange of information.
I read other posts looking for work, does that fall within your realm of acceptable content.
Hello Keith, This Marcellus Shale is a big thing going on. I have to say i have alot of questions but i cant seem to find the answers to them. I live in Worcester NY and it is all the talk. But no one seems to know if we are going to be part of this. Can you tell me where i can find a map showing me where in our county there might be shale? And any other information you can think of, so that i can be "Shale Informed." Thank you again for all your wonderful information on your site, i have alot of reading to do.
Houston Based Petron Industries to start working with several Operating companies in the Marcellus Shale area and we are looking for sales leads. Like your site I think it will really be a big thing in the years to come. Visit us at www.petronworld.com
on your poll you don't list SouthWestern Energy who has been leasing in NE PA for 2.5 years. Also, do mean Elexco in your list or is there a company, EXCO, as you have listed? Again, Elexco is a company that has been there leasing for 2-3 years.
Elexco represented different companies in different parts of the state and was also taking leases in their name for 2-3 years. I guess since I saw a company listed with only 7-8000 acres leased I was surprised not to see 2 that I know had 100,000+ acres leased quite some time ago. Unless someone is saying they have disposed of their holdings, which I was not aware of.
Signing with Big companies vs. Small independants.... food for thought...
I have 400 acres total, divided into 2 seperate locations. I signed 1 lease with a big company and the other half with a small independant. The bigger company is still yet to pay me the initial bonus and it is hard to get in contact with them. The independent has been in contact with me throughout the process, and I just recieved my hefty check. The bigger company says they might not even drill my land after all! They have hundreds of thousands of acres and my land is just a dot on their screen. What are the chances they drill my 200 acres out of the 500,000 + they have? Practically zero. The smaller independent is planning 3 wells by the end of this year already and they say the royalty checks will be steady for the next 20 years. Just thought I'd give you all a first hand experience of these two cases. I just wish I had this info prior to signing with a high profiled company. Their both great companies, but I'd definately go with the closer relationship with a smaller independent. Thats just my two cents though. Good luck everybody! I'm sure we'll all be fine!
I've learn a great deal from other member comment. As I said in my profile I own about 136 acres in Butler co.And I sign with Atlas back in Aug of 2008. But the landman waited untill he had the other people around me has signed .I talk to person who in charge of area at Atlas and he told me in Dec.that they just received the leases And that that they where going to do the title search on them..I still have not recieved the payment yet. I've talk to them and they are very interested in this area,so I plan on waiting till the summer is over before I check to see if I. still own my mineral rights.I would Like to known if anyone else is going thru this-I need advice::

keith was at the site in my area this morning bulldozers are here and excavator ,a manual of proposed site layout is at site with a gbc bound ,quarter inch booklet drawn up by gateway engineering the landowner is either not informed or giving me a smokescreen cause he said he signed up a few years back at 10.00 per and did not say percentage also he from what he said signed a lease with no time frame i find this extremely hard to believe .! whats your thoughts?
Thanks I'M trying to get as much info as I can. I leased my ground last year. I would really like try to get a job in this industry i think this could be a great future for Pennslyvania.
I don't know if you are interested in other sites or not. This site, rlstore.co/tiogapa, has a great deal of detailed information about drilling permit activity and pipeline activity for three or four counties.
check out either www.paoutdoorporperties.com or www.cabelastrophyproperties.com and find something you like and we'll get you hunting on your own property. A little food plot work and you have your own trophy hunt. Maybe this fall I could show you a couple secret spots though.
I have been spending some time with Next Energy, they are about to do a major mailing to Tioga County and are going to put together some large groups of property owners for bid. They will also be working Clinton and Lycoming County's should create some spark in this area as well.
Thanks so much for the nice welcome note. Am hopeful that I can learn much from this site and folks on it. Currently am looking to find how much production are we looking at from a Marcellus shale well? Contract terms and language. Actual wells vs just tie up of land. Layers of strata below Marcellus and their potential. Environmental concerns plus more questions as I learn. Thanks. ellie
