Haven't been here in awhile. There were serious problems with getting into this site. After a few seconds the site would just lock up my machine and clock. This was happening multiple days at both my home (DSL) and work (high speed). I had no problems with other sites. Hope all is fixed. Thanks, Dave
Thanks for the welcome note Keith. My interests are varied - from landowner rights issues to employment to O&G industry trickle down economics (housing, entertainment, etc.). Any specific conversations on issues related to these areas (most notably, anticipated housing shortage for workers).

Chesapeake is looking to run a pipeline thru the far northeast corner of colley into Bradford. I have been contacted by them and I am not interested. I have not sold a lease either. Should I?
Have a Merry christmas and a happy new year. Keep up the good work that your doing here. And may almightly one bless us all and keep us safe in the coming year.
Hope you are enjoying the holiday. If there are public notices that are no longer current, such as the meeting at Mount Morris and the public notices of meetings related to Pennsylvania TDS rule changes, please feel free to tidy up and delete them. I'd do it if I could. Also, please remove the Jones post. Peace, Dee
Keith: Thanks for the welcome I received from you. I have been putting a neighborhood group together over the last 20 months and hope to be able to negotiate a group lease when our original leases expire this year. Thanks, Art
Keith: Thanks for encouraging me. I am in charge of the company looking for an investment opportunity on the production in Marcellus shale. Do you have any idea on it?
Things are fine. We are probably going to sign up with Rex through Western Land. I am trying to figure out what addendums we should add to the contract.
Keith: Thanks for your work here. You may recognize that many issues here in New York are going to take a while to get resolved. Prediction? You want my prediction??? I say June 2010. Or...maybe June 2020. Ugh!
I'm interested in traveling to the Barnett and working with EH&S professionals until NY opens up. I'll be digging around your site looking for those kinds of opportunities.
I'm trying to learn as much as I can about what's happening... I also have land that I am considering leasing but haven't heard a peep from the gas industry about it. Checked the courthouse and it seems I do own the rights.
i am a landowner on sullivan county border in orang e county in cuddebackville. any prospects for me. i am also an environmental, chemical engineer with 35 years experience. retired
Thanks Keith for the comment. We are just bidding our time here in Cambria county. Activity is starting to pick here as to drilling. Have not heard from any land men in sometime but they are drilling nearby.
Would like to see a Steuben county New York page. We are a large county
with all three shale layers of interest. Some of the positive information about
how the drilling companies have provided jobs and income to Pennsylvania families
would be helpful to send to Albany. Can we forward from this site information to Albany, New York?
hi keith, been a while 'is there a beaver county group, or in particular the north sewickley township group of folks already in range resources well supposedly 4 wells 2 northern 2 southern the well was up but somebody said they moved it ,i havent checked was wondering if anybody has updates
All - Just heard a hot rumor that Halliburton is getting ready to close on the purchase of the former Adelphia Headquarters Bldg in Coudersport for $6M. Great news for the community and gas prospects in the area if true.

As the industry activity has dried for consultants I continue to make geologic maps of domestic activity and post them to my member site. While there is a certain amount of shameless self-promotion most of the comments I get back is that I'm providing usefull maps to track industry activity....
but I'm mindful that circumstances can can generate a perception of my efforts as a intrusion..
Thanks for putting this site together. I am checking in once or twice a week and have found new useful material each time. Current interests now include the financial planning associated with the "if they do find gas" scenario.
Hi, Keith. I am a recruiter, and am working on 4 jobs related to marsellus shale (sales, engineers, and landmen opportunities). Its it okay to post these openings, or is that sort of request unwelcome? I am new to this industry, so I joined this group in hopes of learning as much as I can. Thanks for your help!-McKenzie
An update from Carroll County, Ohio. reported in our local newspaper, the Anshutz Corporation started drilling their first well in Carroll County this past January. This well is located in Rose Twp. in Carroll County. The Anshutz Corporation has several leases in Carroll County.
We are signed with this company and they wanted us to be in a 640 acre unit. We did not agree to a 640 acre unit and signed our 240 acres in a unit. Does a gas well pull gas from 640 acres or are gas companies trying to ty up 640 acres by drilling one well? Will gas companies require a 640 acre unit before drilling. I know that oil wells were on 40 acre units. Thanks, Oz
We were offered $3500. for an easment on our propery in Potter Ct. from a company called Iron Well Energy. Is this legit? We asked for a check before we sign any papers. What does an easment allow thm to do on our property?
Keith, sorry I didn't see your reply. Our group is as follows:
Twin Tiers Landowners Coalition

At this point, our focus is Tioga County, PA and Steuben County, NY and surrounding areas. Our approach is to put together a professional team with extensive oil and gas leasing knowledge and numerous contacts in both government and industry. Our mission is to market lands to secure the best possible deal at no cost to our landowners.
The Mayor of Dish, Texas met with various groups last week in New York and Pennsylvania. Mayor Tillman recommended several actions that should be taken by local and state governments:
• Urge your local officials to get the local control back to the local level.
• Develop ordinances related to oil and gas exploration prior to permitting any wells.
• Local Ordinances should require road use agreements
• Local ordinances should require green completions Flaring isn't necessary.
• Understand that there are places that should be off limits for drilling.
• Wells should not be located in school playgrounds, and pipelines should not be run through front yards
• Impose a severance tax
• Require the latest emission lowering technology, including vapor recovery, and zero emissions dehydration, and pneumatic valves
• Work together in groups when signing leases
• Do not be the mole, working against your neighbors
• Do not issue another permit until these things are accomplished!
Tillman reiterated the importance of local involvement, “Your local authorities have to insist drilling companies use green completions. Flaring isn’t necessary. They don’t have to store the drilling waste in pits. Make sure there’s a system for vapor recovery on condensate tanks and other emission sources. They can use zero emission dehydrators and pneumatic valves. The companies say it costs too much, but green completions actually save product which makes the companies more money.”
Mayor Tillman addressed the issue of declining tax revenues in Dish, Texas, which is located in the heart of the Barnett Shale about 25 miles north of Fort Worth. "… a lot of cities in Texas and in the Barnett shale are in trouble. They’re having to raise taxes and lay off people. I liken this to heroin. It’s like an addictive drug and a lot of [Texas] cities got addicted to it.”

Keith, I sent you the info on our Twin Tiers Landowners Coalition, but it is not listed in the landowner groups. Is there any reason why it is not listed?
Greg
Keith you read right. We got a lease that is now called a standard lease with no perks whatsoever and very little protection. They drilled two shallow wells on our land in the seventies and nothing ever became of it so my father said why not sign, we had no idea what was to come . We learn as we live and I have decided that I will become as educated as I can so that we may make better choices in the future.
Can you direct me to where I can get the most information on Equitrains. We own 87 acres of oil and gas rights in Greene County. I live out of the country but my family is getting loads of pressure from a landman and little information. I had a laywer look a the lease which has been in existence since the 60's but now we have people offering cash prices for the rights we own. I would like to find out if theyare drilling already and basically why these people are so anxious to buy us out. Some of my family are considering selling their shares which I think is a mistake....any help is much appreciated.
I am a landlord in Williamsport have been renting to families for over 15 years have solid clean units at no gouging prices, keep my number under apartments in your cell I may have something. Now i have a newley carpeted 4 bedroom $700 2 minutes from maynard st exit of 15 in williamsport and a first floor 2 bedroom in duboistown $600 772 1895
Hi Gary,
Thank you for the information and invite i will not be able to attend but it would be great if you could maybe let me know what happened? Thank you very much. Have a wonderful day
Dear Keith,
Thanks for the invitation, but we'll be traveling then and won't be able to attend. FYI, we're naming our current group effort "THE FRACKIN' GROUP". At least that's the initial suggestion, and we're seeking to get some
solutions to the problems presented in order to form a partnership with the O & G companies and the environmental concerned groups. Probably doomed to
failure, but we'll give it a good shot.

Dear Keith,
I have a question to ask you for answers. As we know,Nitrogen Foam fracturing has been used in Barnett Shale Development during 1981-1985,Is Nitrogen Foam Fracturing using in shale gas develooment now(recent years )?Can you give me some articles.
Thank you. Now,I'm in ChongQing to attend a shale gas symposium

Thanks for your comment -- I'm an expatriate Texan, from Ft. Worth, but have been engaged to a Butler county girl for a while, and just moved to the area. I'm an attorney for Right of Way Land Services, and trying to stay informed as to what's going on with the Marcellus Shale in this area.
Hi Keith - thank you for your comment and putting together a great site. As a reporter covering natural gas markets primarily in the Northeast, I certainly follow Marcellus developments closely.
Looking forward to all the materials and postings on this page,
Haik
Thanks--your last comment saved me a lot of time. The real estate listing said in large type "all OMG convey to buyer". When I called to confirm there was a fummy silence and then the guy said he better check to make sure. Turns out the info was wrong and the rights will not confer so my purchase is out the window. I am still actively looking for hunting land of around 100 acres with OMG rights. If any of your members know of any I am interested.
Thank again
