Thank you Keith. I just registered on Wetzel County, WVA. I just spoke with my first gas company today, so I'm learning the lingo here. This is a great idea, especially for those of us out-of-state whose ancestors held onto these mineral rights. Thank you for all the information you share! I look forward to the education. Kim

Kimberly--we were in somewhat the same situation you are--we contacted an attorney in Petersberg who has done quite a bit of work in Wetzel county--our land has been in the family since 1878 and we were not sure of mineral rights--we discovered the three veins of coal was gone, however, the gas and oil are 100% ours--our attorney wrote a very explicit opinion, with verifications, which is currently being recorded at the courthouse--this precludes any questions as to ownership of gas and oil--you can pm me at crwood@clearwire.net and I will send you his name--be extremely careful before signing any lease--talk to neighbors adjoining your property and see what they have going--the marcellus play, particularly in Wetzel county is heading to phenomonal and a mistake early on can cost you long term--good luck Bob Wood

Robert, thank you so much. I'll email you. Check your spam folder though because I will come in with business information on my e-mail. Thanks so much! I've been dragging along long enough! Kim.
