Where do I go from here? I was part of dumped-on group formerly with Mt .Jackson 4 (Mill Creek twp.). I am getting tired of waiting on M&P, with whom I am still associated. On website of NW Bank in gas/oil section (http://www.oilandgashelp.com/), they advised against signing up with such a marketing group . Their site said one reason gas companies are reluctant to work with M&P is because of that lawsuit. M&P said I just had to send them a letter telling them I no longer wanted them to represent me, but then what? No landmen have been around for half a year. Would welcome advice, as I am new to this site. Janet

Janet,...... let folks on here know where your located, what you are trying to accomplish. It is not easy sorting it all out, but I do believe we are all better off not having a lease for our land rather than a bad lease. Most of the O/G leases last a life time, so take you time.....your oil and gas under your land is not going any where.....there is no one answer that fits everyone so you have to do some thinking/planning on what you are trying to do maybe over what time frame........at this point just just ask questions(which you are doing) and read/study all you can. Talk to your neighbours......see what they are hearing and thinking.......don't be in a hurry......Take care and Good Luck........ALL IMHO
Thanks for reply and with sound advice. I am located Mercer County, PA, Mill Creek Township. Is that specific enough? If not, then why? Not trying to be a smarty pants, but NSC and Google Earth and Verizon notwithstanding, I still fancy myself a private person.
Janet, I think you have provided enough info for people to help you.....Most people on this site are from Pa., Ohio and West Va......but I have seen comments on here from many other states. Just last week a person from Texas made some valuable input in a subject. I live in Fla........I might have been able to help you answer some of your concerns if you were from Southeastern Ohio as that is where I was born and have several friend from there, some of which are on here............Hopefully some one familuar with your area can help you as a lot of information needed is picticular to an area and may not be good for all areas.....Good Luck, Gary
If you are associated with CX / M&P and you were part of the Mount Jackson 4 group and your property is in Mercer County, you should have received a recent newsletter from CX. In that letter CX says it has talked to 6 companies about the 23,000 acres CX has in Mercer County. According to CX, one company listed on NY stock exchange is especially interested but wants 40,000 additional acres. I have two cousins who were part of Mount Jackson 4 and they received this letter. Perhaps Jim Litwinowicz can tell you more. I suggest you send him a friend request. He would probably prefer to communicate with you privately.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
