wondering if anyone has heard anything about EQT drilling a well in Elizabeth Twp. just off of Scenery Dr. and Peairs Road?    Neighbor told me EQT just acquired his lease from Huntley & Huntley.

Mitchell,

In this area, there are Huntley, EQT, and Dale Property Services leases.  EQT has submitted to PADEP two permits on the Kranik tract.  They have not been issued yet.

Dennis, I looked again on the DEP e-facts website and it's the EQT Kranik Well Site ESCGP-2 Expedited.  ESCGP-2 is for the Erosion and Sedimentation Control General Permit - 2.  These applications are filed with DEP since the wellsite and access road is over 5 acres of disturbed land.  Gas companies apply for these first before applying for the individual well drilling permits.  If you don't have a permit to disturb the land surface / erosion and sedimentation plan (well site and access road), then there is no need to apply for the well permits.

So it looks like EQT is moving forward on the well site.  Huntley and Huntley had most of the signed leases in my area but it now looks like EQT is taking them over.

They probably did a lease swap or trade.  It's not uncommon to have multiple companies leases in the same area.
