I am a 54yr.old male, interested in pursuing a job, driving truck,in northwest Pa. I have a cdl with tanker endorsement.I am a military veteran.I am closing my business to pursue a different career and i think I would like to drive (or possibly purchase) a water truck.I don't know anybody in the industry, that i can get advice from.I did, however, read about the long hours and workdays.I think i can handle it.I would appreciate any guidance on this matter.

I saw a banner a few weeks ago at haas environmental saying they were looking for drivers. They are located between Pulaski and West Middlesex on 551. Hope you find what your looking for.

As a CDL  Class A holder with Tanker (I let go of my HAZMAT until Obama gets a back ground check, lol ) there are jobs available. You will find the jobs in the active oil patches. At 54? Your a youngun lol. I am 60 and my CDL landed position with a fracking company as a  Equipment Operator but was made a Electronic Tech. within a week of work as a EO. (I did have a background of working on missile and aircraft inertial guidance systems)

I am from Ohio but am working in the WV area near Bridgeport which is very busy at the current time. I have been here a month (usually my company I work for ( IN FRACKING ) is 2 weeks out a week at home on a rotation. I am not sure as to what water bottle drivers operate as far as location time.

A good start is your local unemployment office for leads. You can also try right here thanks to Keith  the publisher http://gomarcellusshale.com/jobs another lead is from Energy In Depth http://gomarcellusshale.com/forum/topics/energy-in-depth-ohio-launc...  there are many other sites as well.

Driving jobs can range from water haulers, equipment operators in the fracking operations, pipe haulers, roll off drivers, rental company drivers hauling light plants, pumps, even porta johns.

As a regional former regional driver what do I think? I get paid for 14 + hour days unlike the rucking industry as a whole, I sleep on a private room at a hotel (company paid) instead of a truck, they provide a meal along with a decent per deim . Nothing prevents the wife from driving down here to visit,

Do I miss sitting at a DC with no porta pot, no food, no cell phone coverage or internet,no way!

Good luck to ya!

PS the pay is good

Thanks, for the quick response fellows. It sounds good so far.I wouldnt mind the long hours or

time away from home, with travel. I also have a background(as Billy Park) in weapons systems on fighter aircraft until I crosstrained to aircraft structural repair. I currently own a autorepair facility,my children are grown and all professionals and I feel it is time to do something different. There is really no need to continue this.

Check your in box for a friend request. You might want to send a resume to the company I work for.
