I have property in Benton Township.  I live in Va. I receive almost weekly requests to buy mineral rights.  Living out of state makes it hard to keep track witn on-going activites.

I would appreciate getting information about on-going activites or future planning for Benton Township.

Don;  This is about the right place for information that I know ! I have land in green twp Monroe county.

don't sell your mineral rights

Puzzled Good advice  I won't sell mine !  If I did I know I would be sorry later !

The decision to sell your oil and gas rights can be complicated.

What is your relationship to the property ? You obviously don't live there.

What is your financial situation ? Can you use the money now, or can you wait>

Of course if you wait you may get nothing.

What Section of Benton? This is important because I can tell you if a company is drilling nearby.

The property  in Benton/Switzerland of Ohio and is located off Rt 800 about 5 miles from Fly.

Don,

Looks like your property is right on the corner of Benton and Jackson Township of Monroe County. There are some Utica Wells just to the northeast of you drilled by Eclipse. But not much activity in your general area. It could be beneficial to sell since you don't live on the property.

I can tell you that at the moment no one seems to be interested in leasing mineral rights in Jackson township...at least not what I would call a decent lease...............lots of people want to buy the rights  so that should tell you something about the value of   what you have..

Puzzled, I have many friends who live

lol I like to think the best is being saved for last:  Jackson  and  Benton townships;

IMHO   O&G companies already know that the Marcellus produces well in these two townships as there are several vertical Marcellus wells in these two townships that have been producing almost five years!   Those wells proved the Marcellus was in Ohio.   And I think the Utica will produce well also and then there is the upper Devonian

 In some recent news article that I read it was stated that the Marcellus extends 10 to 15 miles into Ohio.

Don, have patience and I think the royalties will eventually come to you.

I think you are right.  There is a lot of interest judging by the number of mail requests and phone calls that have been received.
