I noticed a stake marked "Bottom Hole" just up the road from my property. I looked at the platmap from the well indicated on the stake and it shows the bottom hole right at the road. Since then they have installed a rubber looking pipe maybe 10"-12" under the road and have both ends sticking out above the ground about a foot or so and both ends had a make shift looking cap. Can anyone tell me how this workd or what it's for?

Are they running water lines?

That was my first thought, but no water lines...yet any way. Just seemed funny it is right where they had a stake marked "bottom hole."

That is weird. Is it rubber? Flexible? How deep?
A photo would be nice. There are a lot of smart people on this site who will have the answers

Looks like hard rubber, maybe semi-flexible. They way it's set in the ground, looks like a bannana. LOL....Pics will have to wait since it's about 50 miles from where I live.

It is probably a water line. Probably getting everything ready for when they dig the trench. Going under the road will not slow them down.

I am betting it's a water line.

I'am with you Bill water.

Could be right. They may slide the water line thru the larger line to go under the road.

hey greg
who is the oil and gas company?  I heard range is experimenting with above ground water lines to cut down on road traffic especially in isolated areas for ease of use supposed to be temporary but what is temporary? intersting though it is in the same location where your plat map shows bottom hole , I believe isn't that where the horizonial bore stops isn't it? what I've always thought any how keep an eye on them critters LOL  mark

That would be CHK.
