Who did you sign with? and what reason do you have to believe that the lease is invalid or "breakable", is there some legal issue, fraud, you changed your mind? I am sure you will have a few replys here, but please give some more information. Cost effective? What does that mean?

Yes it is possible, Google" lawsuits Chesapeake" and you will see they are constantly bombarded with law suits. I am currently involve with such an action. It has been difficult, but the cause is just. Will I prevail, time will tell and by God in heaven, I must persevere . So far the cost has been many hours of teasing apart every sentence of the Lease and understanding it, a couple of letters to the oil company and a filing at the courthouse. I'm at the point I need a litigation lawyer. You must be warned, the oil company will never roll over. It's hardball all the way. The reward is 24%-7K or get the drill out of here!

I think this is just silly except for the part about Cheezey-peake being bombarded with lawsuits. Probably true.

Who got 24%-7K in the Utica Shale?

Schnoozie is right, a little context is necessary here.

Robin Hood of Ohio, me doth protest, why would you need a lawyer?

Robin Hood of Ohio, my area of interest. I asked the wrong question. See post about Adverse Possession posted 9/2. I am a waaay absentee owner with a fair understanding, but I wasted space here with the wrong question. Thanks for your concern and input.

Marcus, I asked the wrong question and am in a sensitive situation now and so can't give a lot of detail. Please look at Adverse Possession that I posted 9/2. Thank you for your interest and concern.
