Was recently approached by a gas company about allowing them to test and possibly install a cathodic protection system on a pipeline already arranged across my land. I understand the principal behind the systems and the need for them. Has any one heard any negative issues involved with these systems. I was an marine engineer and we used these systems to combat corrosion due to salt water. Just not sure if there are any negative impacts with having it on a pipe line near my house.
