Hi Gang. Hey our neighbor and us are the only folks on Collins Hill Road in Bingham township who have no lease with anyone. There's a rumor that "UGI" is coming to frack this month, right across the road from our property. Has anyone else heard about this and if it's true, what does that mean for those of us who aren't leased with anyone?

Thanks in advance for your responses

it means you are left out......for now

If the well across the street is good....they will be back to lease you.

Yep, there are two that border our property. crossing our fingers.

UGI doesn't frack, right?? Keep us posted please. I wonder who it could be. (Tioga Cty, so very interested in our neighbors in Potter)

I had never heard of UGI until the neighbor told my Husband about all of this.I'll keep ya posted!

All wells are fracked today if you don't want that, you're saying that you would choose to race a NASCAR with a bicycle.

Here's some interesting info for Potter Co.  JKLM is going to drill nine horizontal wells in Potter. Don't know where but that is very good for your area.

Thank you Jim, yes, that would be outstanding for our area!

A few questions...OK, maybe more than a few ;-)

What is the name of the pad across the road from you? (sometimes they are named after the landowner's name where the pad is situated)

Have you ever been leased, and if so, was it with the current developer?

What happened to the lease....surrendered, etc?

Who is the developer?

When you say UGI is coming to frack, it would indicate there are drilled full length wells to the target source currently on the pad....do you know the permit #s of the well(s)?

Geographically, where is the well pad located in relation to your land; North, South, etc.? Please be as specific as you can; WNW, SSE.....this could provide an answer as to why you have not been approached to lease....yet.

It says "Atlee Miller 1" (I believe Atlee's land where the well is, was leased with Allegheny)

Have you ever been leased, and if so, was it with the current developer?

The previous owner had the land leased with Penn Virginia from 2010 - 2015. We bought the place in 2012 and the OGM's were to transfer with the sale. KLJM came around offering $2,300/acre in March/April 2015. Our neighbors who had no lease jumped on it. We were still under the previous owners lease so we were out of luck. By the time we were released from the previous owners lease, in the Summer of 2015, JKLM's offer went down to $300 and acre.

What happened to the lease....surrendered, etc? Yes, we have those documents. We got them shortly after the lease expired.

Who is the developer? Penn Virginia

There is a number on the well that says "37.108.21225"  Not sure what that is.

The well is SE of our land

Thanks in advance for anything info you can tell us!

I can't find that well permit # on the DEP site. The well numbers there all have a number like 105.XXXXX, no 108. numbers.

There are also no permitted wells showing Penn Virginia as the developer. There are numerous JKLM wells and Penn General Energy LLC wells (the latter could be their E&P corp. name).

A search did not produce a pad with the name Atlee Miller, or any variant of the name that I could identify.

Have you spoken to the neighbors? The ones that signed the JKLM lease in 2015? If they have been unitized, which would be the case if a well had been drilled, they should be able to provide more information.

Your location in relation to the well pad is not telling. Generally, wells are drilled to the NNW and/or SSE from the well pad. If you haven't been approached to lease, that may indicate the well is drilled to the SSE direction from the pad. If that is the case, they would not need to lease your rights because the well does not cross your property boundary.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

hummm, how odd. All of the bordering properties around us are leased with the exception of the Northern border, that neighbor is also waiting to see what happens. Will keep ya posted....

Lori,

It appears the well in question (SE of Collins Hill Rd) is the "Miller 1" operated by Roulette Oil and Gas LLC.  Permit number (NOT API number) is 105-21725.  This appears to be a conventional vertical well rather than a horizontal well which explains how this well can be drilled and completed (fracked, as some say) without you being leased and part of the production unit.  There are also some other conventional wells in the area operated by Allegheny Enterprises (Butler 1 and Richardson 2).  All unconventional (horizontal) well development in Potter is happening SE of Ulysses.

In regards to PVR....I have noticed a very recent uptick of PVR submitting plugging reports in Potter Co. so it's possible that's what is being planned.
