Compressor Station impact

Does anyone have information on the impact a compressor station has on the land from a physical standpoint as well as an environmental standpoint? How far away will neighbors be impacted?

Here is a link to Chesapeake's video on compressor stations.  They are quite large and can be noisy if not enclosed.  Unfortunately they are a neccesity of the industry.  I would encourage you to find one close to you and visit the site. Talk with the local landowners.
