Today Carrizo Oil & Gas announced that it is entering the Utica Shale Play by way of a Joint Venture with Avista Capital Partners. There are 15,000 acres involved and Carrizo is paying $1,500 per  acre for ONLY 10% interest. You do the math. What would the value per acre be for 100% interest?

Here's the 3rd qtr financial/operating report for Gulfport. Included is their Utica update and the results of the BK Stephens well in Harrison Co. which looks like another super well. They have already permitted the BK-2 from the same pad. Note that they state that they plan to drill 50 wells in 2013. This is good news for Harrison, Guernsey, and Belmont counties. See the link...

Gulfport plans to spend 215 to 225 million in the utica shale in 2013. That is 4.3 million per well. That's the kind of info that will cause lease prices to rise.

Here is an excellent summary of 3rd qtr reports from the major players. One thing is for sure, if your land is in the core counties and they need your lease as a "bolt-on", you should be asking for a minimum of $6,000 per acre bonus. See the link...

Gulfport has released info on their Belmont Co well, and has put the Wagner and Boy Scout wells into production. Mark West has started the first Harrison Co. processing plant, with the others to follow next year. See the link...

TRACKER LARIO UTICA LLC, acquires 25,000 Acres from CHK in portage & Trumbull. Does anyone know who they are?? 900+ Lease in Portage County (Paris & Palmyra) transferred to them from CHK on 10/22/2012. Also 750+ leases in Trumbull County (Lordstown & Newton Township) transferred to them from CHK on 10/23/2012. Most are HBP Leases. Anyone heard what they paid?
