Living in Southeast Peters Township we had our first gas lease offer from Chesapeake in 2010. It was totally unacceptable and even with further talks an agreement couldn’t be reach. At the end of 2013 both EQT and Rice Energy were offering gas leases again. After reading both original leases it was clear that EQT was pushing the same type of lease that Chesapeake offered and Rice Energy was taking a different approach in securing a lease. Starting first with a more owner friendly lease and then willing to address your concerns without wasting your time. Time is always money when you need to have attorneys involved.
